Ok, so Biscuit and Jase have been so kind as to correct my squatting form, and I must say that they are right! I could feel it working better and targeting the area more effectively. You guys should be trainers...

You know I've actually thought about that... at the very minimum I could outdo those idiot trainers in our gym.  Most of them just stand around checking their phones while their clients do something completely incorrectly.

Joscott and I just had a discussion the other day about the merits of training hot women.  Seems like a pretty damned decent job.

Yesterday at the gym I took 'body pump' and the instructor was 8.5 months pregnant.  She don't play.  She kicked my ass.

That's one of the benefits of having a workout partner. It's always nice to have someone correct your form. I would workout with someone, but I have a rotating schedule.

Going to change up my deadlift routine. I feel like I have plateaued and my back feels more fatigued the past  few weeks  than it has in previous months. That might also be because I laid off squats and maybe I didn't realize I was using my back more.

However I know that I must be doing too many reps. I have a bad habit of thinking that if I'm not absolutely exhausted after the routine then I am not working out. Here's my routine now. I do a pyramid esque routine.

135-5x for warm up

195-10x

225-7-10x

245-5x

265-3x

285(Sometimes 295)- 1-3x

Then from 285 I go back down to:

245-5x

225-7-10x

185-10x

This is what makes me work up a huge sweat and I feel great because of it but I think the routine limits my strength gains. I definitely have seen growth in my lats and triceps. However like I said my back feels tired and I've been doing this routine once a week for months now.

I was thinking instead of going up and back down the weight I would focus on lower reps and simply deadlift twice a week. I've been using an alternating grip on each rep which I now realize is mistake because it has kept my grip from getting stronger. I'll now save the alternate grip for the higher weight.

OneBadCat, I would suggest that you cut the reps, but I think you already figured that out.

Do one or two sets at 8 or 10 but then, and esp when you get heavier, don't go over 6.

Then, once you're done with traditional deads, do some sumo deads with about half the weight you go up to on deads, and then some rack pulls and go heavy on those.

Got 10 wide grip, full extension pullups yesterday at the gym on my firs two sets, then I got 8 on my last set.  I usually rush through, and never quite get to a dead hang, but I really focused this time and made sure to lock my elbows before going back up.  Got 10 of them suckers.  Felt great.  Tried to do close grips at the end of the workout, but my biceps were spent.  Back is feeling it today.

So I don't normally do this, but biscuit said I should. I can't find my original post, but anyway I started out at 181 and I'm only like 5'7-8. I've always worked out 5 days a week, but I've been running a lot more and I'm training for a mini triathlon. I started counting calories last fall and now I just eat better. But anyway my mother sneaked a picture of me, because I hate pictures

^ had to be wearing a Gold's singlet, too.  Haha, dude's that wear singlets  1980's Venice Beach wants its style back.

Anyway, I take back what I said about T25 not being as ridiculous as Insanity.  On whole, Insanity still takes the cake, but Ab Intervals in T25 will kick the poo out of you.  That is a serious work out.

So, pistol squat is in the books as something I can do.  Dragon Lifts, check.  Hand stand, done.

Human Flag here I come.

I keep seeing "the tire" mentioned.  I am not sure which size ya'll talk about but if you mean a simple 14.6 tire then I am confused?  Those are not bad at all.

The dumptruck tires are different, though.
