I was able to dead today but I didn't push it and I did some leg and lower back exercises first instead of jumping right on the deads. That wrap I got really helps my ribs.

I stretch my lower back out every day and deads still give me trouble.  Do those reverse crunch things for your lower back, superman swims, etc . . . I'm thinking I just need to take deads slower and really really concentrate on my form.  The thing is, if the weight is too light for me, I want to go faster in voluntarily, i.e., without thinking.  E.g., initial sets of 135 I crank out in like 20 seconds it feels.  Guess I need to concentrate more.

Anyway, second T25 disc today--Speed 1.0--which was awkward.  Not knowing the moves at first can be frustrating because there is no instruction [like Insanity].  Didn't kick my butt, but I assume it will get worse.  I won't keep updating after each time I do this stuff; just giving my initial takeaway for those that care to read.

I'm old, I admit it. I do hurt significantly more than years past...

However I'm also in the best shape of my life. I hit the gym pretty much 6 days a week and am stronger than most of the guys half my age so I'm good... :)

Good luck on that course boo. You can do it!

Give 180degree landmines a try.  They may not look like a challenge or all that tough but they'll make a man of you and are better then most core exercises combined.  The core is so neglected in any gym I enter.

For the leg and lower back, as well as hips, try some pistol squats.

When ya get a chance do some dragon flags.  Build up to them and don't do them to failure.  And make sure you do it the real way and keep your entire body straight as you do them.

i thought about ibuprofen for the pain but i read somewhere that it inhibits muscle growth

http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=27864&s=68a6e600dd30bdd7287398496ef6795e&p=51314721&viewfull=1#post51314721

That should help, he spelled it out so I won't have to.  It is not that they inhibit growth of muscle, they inhibit protein synthesis to aid and recover muscles.  I suppose, and I don't know it to be true, that if you are killing it in protein, BCAA's, and fluids it may be enough to not slow it down as much.

yeah inhibiting protein synthesis in aid and recovery will inhibit muscle growth.   i just don't like throwing around words like protein synthesis and having people realize i'm fairly intellectual

too much pressure man

For some reason I remember I didn't like you, so I won't give you advice that if you want to try an amazing post workout you should look in to AfterGlow.  It is available at some GNC's but not all, and corporate GNC's do not carry it.  BodyBuilding.com does not have it anymore.  The only place I know to get it - independent/franchise GNC's can order it and I only know two in NC (Clemmons and Kernersville) that carry it.  It contains supercissus - an herbal extract for anti-inflam, some bcaa's and other junk.  I take it, but I get it at ridiculous prices.  I have been lifting and athletic - college D1 level - my entire life and found nothing better.

If you'd like more info PM me.

First time I did it I liked it, then I stopped. It made my feet cramp same with Speed 2.0

btw T25 isn't nearly as tough as Insanity. First it's only 25 mins, second even without breaks I just didn't find it as difficult. However I burned almost as many calories doing T25 as I do in 25 mins of Insanity.

I've only had samples so I can't speak too much about it. It did have a pretty good taste at least. BSN usually makes pretty good stuff from my experience with them. I just haven't been able to bring my wallet on board to add a post workout BCAA yet.
