Maybe we do need a separate thread for that...

I start out at 135 too and work my way up when I do it.  If I just jumped on 315 or higher I'm sure I'd hurt myself.

It's taken me a while, at least a year to get up to 500.  For a long time I didn't go higher than 225.

Do you think 350 is a reasonable goal to reach within a year?

I want to say I started dead lifting back in to October-November. I could only do 225 max at the time. Today, If I had straps I think I could do 295 on a good day but I'm not trying to hurt myself.

I don't take supplements but I need to improve my diet for sure. I think I get adequate protein but I'm piss poor at eating the right veggies and what not.

I mean having not seen you lift I can't say for sure, but I don't see why not?

When I started dead lifting I didn't have a goal in mind but I knew it was a great overall strength exercise so I watched a few YouTube video to check my form and put it in my weekly rotation. For a long time I just did four sets, 135, 185, 225, 225. Then I moved the fourth to 265 after a couple of months, and eventually to 315. Once I was comfortable with 315 at least 6 reps I moved up again. I've just been adding sets now to go up in weight. Yesterday I did 135x10, 185x8, 225x6, 265x6, 315x5, 365x4, 405x3, 455x2, 500x1.

Just like with every thing else, form is key, strength will come...

So I'm going to try to squeeze in my second leg day of the week.

After I squat, I notice that I get some light bruising above my left kneecap.  Barely enough pain to notice if you touch it.  Is this an indication of some fluid in the knee or perhaps something more serious?

That doesn't sound good...  I've never seen any bruising, but when I do squats or machine presses both of my knees hurt like a bitch right above the kneecap... just stretching out I guess.

Might want to have that checked out...

I doubt going to the doc would resolve much.  There's no pain or limit to flexion.  The bruise disappears within a day.

Maybe I could set an appointment and then go squat the morning before.

My right pec has been jumping off and on all day... it's like I'm half stuck in a gif...

How do you stop this?

So, fairly certain a hurt my right shoulder doing, of all things, pushups.  Just goes to show that anything can happen without warming up.

I was still able to get some military presses out today, but I could definitely feel the pain lurking.

Not enough to be concerned about, but you definitely take notice.

Shoulders are a bitch.  Mine bother me doing just about anything...
