I did another workout.

Just 30 mins, but I made myself do it.

Warm up for 5, some kinda bootcamp thing for 10, Tai Chi for 10.

Its a start :(

Kurb, I can get u in at Gold's for at least a week for free... come hit it with me and J Saturday.

I've been coming in just about as late as I can to get a full workout (9:30 pm) and the gym is still packed when I get there.

especially brutal if I try to (heaven forbid) do chest on monday.

Yes, Monday is ICD, International Chest Day.

Wife is on call this weekend so I can't leave her alone with the kid.

Also you would just laugh at me :)

Appreciate the offer tho.

I know how my head works.

Usually I do this cycle:

Do the gym thing so hard I can barely move.

Get annoyed I am so sore from being out of shape.

Stop going.

So this time I am taking a lighter approach, to gain the habit, then I can get jamming.

I have very small goals to reach to start.

200lbs even

100 push ups

I'm not thinking about mass or actual lift weight right now, just toning and fitness.

Plus this keeps my blood sugar in check. #DiabetesSucks

As much as I ran in 2013, believe it or not I've been a total slackard since the marathon.  I've only run maybe once a week, weights only sporadically.  Guess what? I feel like crap.  I just renewed my gym membership, and I'm heading out at lunch for a run to get back on it.

Never any laughing... everyone starts somewhere... it's always the form not the weight.

Those are very reasonable goals.  Good luck, but you're welcome anytime.

Sounds like a good plan, you are doing what you're comfortable with and have set goals! I'm rooting for ya :)

A while back I think you asked me to update you on what I thought about T25 Focus. I liked it a lot, there are two workouts that kind of made my feet cramp so I'd have to break occasionally but over all it was a fun workout that with a decent diet will yield results. I'm doing P90X3 right now which is 30 mins and am liking it too. There is a little more variety in P90X3 but there are some workouts that don't seem like real workouts like Yoga and Pilates. Working out from home works well for me because I have a hard time dealing with the guilt of not being at home with my guys.

I would workout at home, but I don't have the necessary equipment and I probably would have a harder time getting motivated.

Our solution to that has been to take the kids with us... of course ours are a little older.

Yeah age is a big difference. When mine was really young he liked to play in the kids area so I took him but then soon realized that he was getting sick from there because everyone would drop their kids off even if they were really sick.  So i stopped working out. Then i found working out at home and it's been great.

My kid occasionally joins in as well. The other day we did "The Challenge" which is a variety of push ups and pullups over and over again. He exchanged the pull ups for sit ups and did the full 30 mins with us. His push up form isn't great though. He did about 25 mins of insanity (at his own pace) the other week to "train" for something at school. I imagine when he is older he'd go to the gym with me...if they let him.

There was a gap there, from about 9-12 where they don't really fit in the kids care and they can't workout either...

My oldest is 18 now (he's more interested in other things so he never goes) and my youngest is 13 almost 14.  He'll go with his mom and do cardio...  I haven't really pushed him to workout and lift with me yet because I feel he's still a tad young for it...  if he's interested this summer he can though.

Just finished an hour of intense cardio! Love that post workout feeling.

So I thought I'd share a recipe. I love cereal and eat it too often. It's hard to find "clean" cereals so I made one. I used Bob's Red Mill Muesli as a starting point. It already has whole grain oats, flaxseed, sunflower seeds, and dried dates. I added shaved coconut, raisins and sliced almonds. I eat it with almond milk. it's very filling and super healthy.  I  mix it all together and keep it in a container so it's ready to go, quick and easy.

How is P90X3?  I hated P90X simply because it requires you to buy a ton of extra equipment.  I would much rather pay a gym fee, get a sauna and steam room, a load of different equipment, and some eye candy.  I've been hearing decent reviews about P90X3, though, the primary one being that each workout is only 30 minutes long.

Anyway, breakfast today:

- 4-egg omelet [3 egg whites, 1 whole egg] with sautéed cremini mushrooms seasoned with simple salt, pepper, and thyme.

[i have to use 4 because the 24 pack of eggs I buy (they're like 2.99 at HT) are relatively small.]

- 1 large navel orange

- 1 organic banana

I'm thinking of signing up at a boxing gym somewhere around town.  I got hooked on kickboxing doing P90X [hey, at least I got something out of it], and have been looking to get more active and competitive now that I feel I am back into decent running, jumping, and kicking shape.

I just finished the first transition week of P90X3. I like it pretty good though 30 mins is a little short for me, I'm use to working out an hour. So i occasionally add another workout in with it.  My husband is just doing the 30 mins and he seems to like it too. It has lots of variety. I'm in pretty good shape and it's challenging which is my favorite part.

I already had the dumb bells and the pull up bar from P90X so the equipment wasn't a problem for me.

edit: It has an MMX workout. I'm actually thinking about skipping it. KenpoX became my least favorite P90X workout because all the twisting fuged up my knees. I'll likely replaced MMX with an Insanity workout.
