I'm supposed to do deadlifts today (that was the plan anyway) and my back is tweaking... I bent over to tie my shoe this morning and it started hurting... dammit.

I pulled a muscle about a week ago. I probably could have done a good bit even with that going on. I used it as an excuse to sit home.

It was hell when I had been sitting and tried to stand up. Otherwise it wasn't too bad.

aw that sucks, i'd rest it. I love deadlifts but it's easy for me to tweak my back doing them.

I took two motrins at lunch and it feels better.. I'm sure I'll end up deadlifting anyway... I've got to where I love it...

I want to push it... I've gotten 420 3X on the last set the last two times I deadlifted... I want to go up but I've been chicken so far.

Here's something weird.  I work out fine pain free, but if I have to carry around either of my 30-35 pound kids in my right arm, I get pain shooting between my shoulder and sternum all day.

Sounds like a nerve problem... maybe something in your neck pinched from that offset load?  Go to the chiropractor.

I always carried my boys in my left arm because I'm right handed and needed it for keys, etc....  my left arm has been slightly stronger ever since.

The tendons that connect your pecs to your sternum can get irritated and rupture relatively easy. Ice helps stop inflammation

ice up, son

Went up another 10 lbs to a 255 dead lift the other day. Must have MORE. Deadlifts are becoming my favorite exercise.

Are any of you guys guilty of working out to the Rocky theme song? There have been a few guys at my gym I've caught listening to it. I will openly admit I have some parts to the Dark Knight Rises sound track on my work out playlist. Whatever gets you going.

I have a similar problem but if I have to hold my daughter (27lbs) longer than it takes to get from the car to the kitchen my entire left arm goes numb.  Its not my arm getting tired its like my arm is there and then I can't feel it.

Also yesterday as I was coming into work I noticed a couple in the parking lot with a flat.  As he jacking it up, I park my car and start walking. (he obviously has everything under control).  Well the car starts rolling and nearly lands on him.  I walk over ask if he needs a hand.  He already has the tire off so the whole suspension is on the ground.  Long story short I have to lift said car with him.  I'm not trying to sound like super hero or anything but we managed to lift it 2 inches to get the jack under it.  I thought I had managed to do it with good posture but my upper back is absolutely killing me today.

Other than that, I've used my "home gym" aka one of those contraptions with weights cables and whatnot, so much that I've broken it.  Trying to fix it otherwise is will be replaced with a weight bench.  And i'm running a 5k at least 2 times a week.

I'd be burning so much fat if it were warmer and it wasn't the holidays.  I can't quit food.  So as of right now my weight has been maintaining.  The fact that I have continued to do this is nothing short of a miracle.  The true test will happen when my boy, baby #2, comes in March.

There's a whole playlist thread around here somewhere...

I mainly listen to Deftones and the like... harder stuff to get me going...

Sunday is usually my day off but Im going to try something new today. Gonna go to the gym right now and hopefully exhaust the crap out of myself so Im too tired to yell at the TV this afternoon.

This has become my Sunday routine...  get up, eat, hit the gym about 10 and kill it... go home, shower just in time to veg in front of football for about 10 hours.

I'm anxious today because of the game at 1.  Ready for it to get started.

Leg day today... stopped by my office to check something and charge my earbuds...

Good call, legs will definitely tire you out for the day.

Yeah, I think ill start taking Saturday's off instead now. I get so restless just laying around the house watching football all day.

Not like those pre game shows are any good anyway, so its not like we're missing anything.

I planned on going for a few hours this morning, but all I got in was a 20 minute run and a few minutes jumping rope.

I walked into the weight room, saw too many people, left.

Sidenote: spotted a female doing some type of dumbbell squats - first female I've seen in the weight room since I've been going.

Enjoy the last few days until the January crowd takes over for a few weeks and disappears.
