If you were married and had kids....or had planned to get married and have kids, I think she has a valid point.

If you weren't married...hadn't spoken of it...and no kids discussion, then while I admire your dedication and willingness to do something like that, she still may have a slight point but not as justifiable.

Get registered in the bone marrow registry. Donate platelets and stuff like that. Kidney is pretty serious and could come in handy if your offspring needs one...seeing how the odds of your dna matching up is so much higher.

you did the right thing, it takes a true man to put (potentially) his life on the line for someone else- especially an innocent child. If she doesn't see that then you lucked out.

Age 45. No kids. Not married but dating.

And to be honest, I don't count this as anything heroic. Had I gone through with giving up a kidney, that would have been a bigger deal, but this was just volunteering for a screening.
