Isn't it true that these players still claim there was no bounty program? If not, we definitely know that they did in the beginning, even when the mastermind behind the program apologized for it. So they are already down for having lied about the program, yet they cry fowl for the punishments Goodell has brought upon them. Saying it's a smear campaign. I think these players should have some dignity, and serve their time. Get it over with, because crying over it is doing even more harm to their reputation. It's proven the program happened, own up.

I love my Panthers and boy do I hate the Saints*, but there was more evidence at the Salem witch trials than what the league has presented thus far. This smells of some type of greater agenda going on; too much orchestrated media coverage and severe penalties for something lacking so much concrete facts.

I think the league's power structure wanted full attention on this because they are looking to somehow change the nature of the game, who knows maybe one day hits on the quarterback will be outlawed... maybe no need or advantage with having a running Quarterbacks at that time... :cam:

As each day goes by the NFL looks more and more like they were way out of line in their accusations toward the Saints*. People like Mike Florio (attorney and commentator) is questioning the ethics of Roger Goodell and if he has bumbled this entire process. The public is now supporting the players as the lack of real evidence is alarming. So called witnesses stating that the NFL twisted their statements. The Saints* fans http://www.nola.com/Saints*/index.ssf/2012/06/the_bounty_scandal_has_fanned.html and team are rallied like never before and are on a mission to win a Super Bowl played in their home town with a defense vastly improved and the most explosive offense in history returning everyone along with new additions. Brees about to get his contract finished. Who would have thought that with all of the off season issues that the Saints* would be in the position they are today? It just goes to show you that people should always let things play out before rushing to judgement.

So proud of how the players and fans have not allowed the bully process to go unchallenged and looking forward to another Lombardi trophy in the big easy!

I don't know where to even begin with the absurdity that is littered throughout this entire post, so I'll start with rallying behind Mike Florio. Everybody knows that Florio is the most sensationalistic NFL blogger on the internet. I say 'blogger' in lieu of 'journalist' because that's all he is. He doesn't break news or report news, he just links to local team sites (i.e, The Observer, Saints* Report, etc.), adds what he believes to be a relatable funny reference to a TV show's YouTube clip, and voila. He will, all in one breath, say something like Drew Brees' sources regarding him saying the coaches fear additional backlash are accurate, then say there is no actual evidence to support that statement, and then conclude by saying its fishy. He is like that friend that your girlfriend has that gets in her ear about you doing something fishy for the sole purpose of causing drama. Only he gets paid well for it.

I find it funny how this all came out and you never showed up around here anymore, and now that you feel there is some sort of an Achilles heel to the NFL's investigation, out from under the bridge you once again come.

Jonathan Vilma is suing Roger Goodell. As in, a real life courtroom for millions of his dollars, not the NFL's. So why would he present anything to the players' personal or NFLPA lawyers and give them months to dissect, disseminate, and twist that information when he doesn't have to? De Smith himself was quoted as saying he felt Goodell should be doing more than the minimum that is required by the CBA, and providing more information? Why would he extend a courtesy to a man that would never in a million years extend that same courtesy to him? The whole lockout this summer was about the players being able to collectively bargain as one, and in doing so they all agreed to the terms of Roger Goodell having the authority to make these decisions based solely on his judgement from seeing whatever evidence he has, and that's what he has done. Now the players don't like it.

The Saints* broke the rules. Whether it was a bounty, or it was monetary incentives that circumvented contracts, and therefore, the salary cap, money changed hands in a way that is clearly outlined as forbidden. Years ago, the NFL found out about this and told the team to stop before this turned into the circus it is now, and they brashly and arrogantly continued. That is why they are now getting the hammer.

Nobody wants you here. I think troll is the most overused and played out word on the internet, but that's what you are.

Sweet lord shut your dumb ass up brees. You look worse and worse everyday. Sign your contract so we can beat your ass like a drum.

Brees is still saying he doesn't believe it unless he sees proof. The NFL says they have plenty of proof. All Taints, players and fans alike, are tards.
