Who will be our number 3 WR?

gettis or tutu.

doesn't really matter to me, tho.

i see the ball getting distributed much in the same way it does the other spread offenses out there. the ball goes to the open guy with the best opportunity to do something. after smitty, lafell, olsen, and williams/stewart/tolbert, it's going to be a total toss up. the targets are going to be all over the board as will the catches and yardage.

I don't really see us as having priority listed WRs like most NFL teams. We're in the unique position of having diverse guys at the position. Where the #3 guy in most every NFL offense is going to be in the slot a lot as the "Y" receiver, in our offense Smith will sometimes be there. However, for the sake of depth chart talk, I believe it will closely resemble:

1. Smith

2. Lafell

3. Gettis/Adams

4. Adams/Gettis

From time to time, depending on match-ups, Olsen will be out there.

I am pretty sure most everyone associated with the Pantherz wants it to be Gettis. As of right now, he is doing everything asked of him. Just not sure where he is at physically? I will say this. I love that Rivera is a no nonsense straight shooter. Gives me the feeling that the players on the field earned it. Which shows every other player that he has to earn it. That type of competition breeds depth. Which will tell me what they think of Gettis by how they treat him.

Where was I? Oh yeah, what IF Gettis is back? We are set. Right? So what IF Gettis is not back? Who you gonna call? I say that to prove a point. This is a very important offseason for a number of the WRs. Seems strange to say that here in Pantherland. I wonder how many are hitting Cam up for practice time? Or who and where they are working? Have heard raves about Jadams doing slot work, then heard crap about a drop also. Is he in the mix at all? I would say most definitely. If he can earn their trust. So if he sees the field, we have a potential star. Armanti, Tutu, Bryant, Pilares, and whomever else are fighting for basically three spots. That kinda scares me more than a little. So if Gettis does not return, does that mean we are limited at the WR spot? Sheew. Too damm many ?s for seemingly unimportant positions.

I know Hardy stayed in town this offseason. With obvious results. Makes me wonder why more guys don't.? Not the vets on their second contract. But the guys on their first, and hoping for a good second. Mcfua was rehabing so he was probably there. With Beaston and Davis. How about those bubble guys? Would bet they would take any and all opportunities to practice with Cam.

Quite the ramble, thanks for listening. And GOOOOOOOOO CATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
