I just find it hilarious that people get outraged by these rumors without bothering to do an iota of research into their validity.

Not only are they banning used games, you'll have to buy a new controller to play at your friend's house. The new controllers will be paired via bluetooth to a single console. Pairing to another console will be impossible. Each console requires a new, unpaired controller.

Sony has lost something like 10 billion dollars over the last couple of years. They haven't turned a profit in several consecutive quarters.

Should Sony ever disappear from the scene, it wouldn't surprise me to see Apple and/or Amazon jump into the console market.

I'm leaning toward the thought that consoles will be on the way out. Like I said, the console makers are blurring the line between PC's and consoles...people are more likely to get rid of their consoles than their PC's.
