Do you think Cam's success had an impact on how people look at RG3?

Ironically I am not as sold on RG3 as I was on Cam Newton last year. As a matter of fact the concerns I have for RG3 on the field are the ones that were put on Cam last year that I thought were overblown or outright incorrect.

I will be very interested to see what RG3 does from under center and in a crowded pocket this year because there is no doubt that RG3 has all the tools to be an incredible pro but he has a low release point, is a little short, and was actually less patient in a crowded pocket than Cam was at Auburn.

I am pulling for him though because he has the potential to be very, very exciting.

IMO, I believe you underestimate Cam, and overestimate Griffin. Not by much mind you, on both counts. I just think Cam will match any QB as regards "arm talent". Not that Joey is a slouch mind you. I have never seen a QB do what Cam does. Never thought I would see a QB having this much fun, all the while, making the job look so damm easy. We have front row seats for destiny up in these here parts. And that thought get my giddy going. I think Joey is underrated myself. I just have to believe Cam is in a brand new category.

That Bradford dude can flat out throw the ball. He is in his third year, think Stafford, so this could be his year. I am iffy on Griffin's ability to make all the deeper throws. It is almost like he looses his touch at about 35 yards. If RG can match Sam, or even outplay him, then the skins got themselves a QB. So I believe you hit this one on the head.

Other than that, I think you got as close as anyone so far. Nice job. Gave me something to work from anyway.

Imo Joe Flacco is one of the elite arm talents in the league and the way the ball comes out of there hands reminds me of each other they may not have the quickest releases but the ball comes out with tremendous velocity.

The comparison was meant as a compliment, I think Flacco has more arm then Bradford.

Griffin by most accounts (and its supported statistically) had the best deep ball in college football.

His deeper throws are one area where I have no concerns.

Lol, keep telling yourself that when Griffin's limp noodle arm is picked 5+ times against the Eagles and Cowboys. When it comes down to it Cam and RGIII = 1/4 of Breesus.

Lol. It's killing' grits that after talking all that sh1t about Cam that his team went out and got a poor man's Cam Newton.

I don't even think they're the same kind of player.

Other than skin color (which is irrelevant) the only real similarity I see is mobility. And even there, Griffin is more of a straight line speedster while Newton is a combo of elusive and run-over-you.

They're very different players.

fair enough but i would consider "Cutch in the 4th quarter" a skill set. Some guys have it, some guys don't.

And I would say Newton hasn't shown that on the pro level...yet.

That's another one of those "we'll see in the future" on both parts.
