Plaxico coming to Charlotte?

Get real bro.

Lafell is way more clutch? I like Lafell too and root for him every sunday but cmon. You're getting over yourself.

I dont get why fans just cant be real. Just bc a player is on your favorite team doesnt mean hes the best.

As good as Cam was last year and with so much weapons in Smitty, Olsen, Shockey, Stew, and Dwill, Lafell shouldve had a better season last year. And dont blame it on the new coaches or new system.

Plaxico is a proven Wr in the league. Plaxico didnt have a great season due to poor QB play from Sanchez, and he still hauled in 8 tds compare to Lafell 3.

Lafell at times showed some potential but most of the season hes invisible on the field. Dont call Lafell better than Plax only bc he caught an awesome pass from Cam that went for 91yards. And then what happen later in the game, we all never saw Lafell after that amazing play against a poor Bucs secondary. The play was pretty much all Cam. Dont get too excited about Lafell this season. I predict a 40 rec, 600-700 yds, no more than 5 tds season for Lafell.

have u even seen some off the catches me has made like the 2 catches against green bay or the one against the bucs

and if your trying to tell me that catch against the vikings on a long 4th down wasnt clutch then tell me what clutch is

plax had more tds than smith it doesnt mean hes better than him

Why not? We are putting a lot of stock into Gettis being 100%. After Gettis and LaFell, we don't have any experience.

Plax could really help in red zone.

How many teams have a lot of experience past their top 3 receivers?

If this were in the past I probably wouldn't ever endorse this, but I do think that Rivera is a guy that players respect and fear somewhat. We have taken chances on guys in the recent past due to Rivera's no nonsense approach. That is why if Burress would play on a 1 year incentive laden contract, I would take the chance. On the other hand, that is why I am posting on this site instead of working in an NFL office somewhere.

Dunno, don't have an answer for it, but looking at his stats and comparing them to this guy.....

what's the harm in bringing him in?

dunno? baggage? effect on the lockerroom? not the kind of presence you want when things get tough? causes too many distractions? bad influence on players? hurt player development (and not just because of lost PT).

and yet the guy was let go from the jets.

and yet he's still unemployed.

why?

He wasn't let go by the Jets, he was on a 1 year contract and completed it. They just were not going to pay him another 3 million. This is very similar to what we did with Shockey. Does it mean we don't want him back or there is something wrong??? No, it means we don't want to pay him 2 million and the Jets didn't want Burress at 3 million. The fact he still wants a big payday is why he is still looking for work.

All that I have read about him does not indicate he has a problem in the locker room. Dude was suspended by the Giants because he violated team rules...e.g. he was beefing about his contract because he didn't feel it was on par with players of his caliber. Outside of that he has been fined like two times for complaining about officials and once for throwing a ball into the stands...Really the biggest thing this guy has done was shoot himself in the leg.......again not really sure what the downside of bringing him in would be.........at the very least he would be a good mentor for the development of both Lafell and Gettis

If you listened to the interview on wfnz mac attack he said that he has got plenty of offers, its just more about coming into the right situation and he is not in a rush to make a decision. Its all about winning at the end of the day for him (veteran, getting up there in age) and he feels that we are in the best situation for that to happen. He thinks Cam is a top 5 QB, really likes the offense and feels he will flourish in it, thinks it will be a given becuz with smith, olsen and the rbs on the field there is really nobody you can focus on to stop. Thinks we will win sooner than later. Has a lot family down here as well especially in south carolina. And i wouldnt call the guy "mega-dumb" either, that sounds more like strong opinion than a given fact. Yeah he shot himself, but him going to prison was more significant than the shooting in that whole situation, becuz of New York laws he got locked up for that amount of time if he had been anywhere else it wouldnt have been that bad and this still wouldnt be such a big talked about thing attached to him.

    • his height, size and arm will forever cause problems and limitations...that is what it is.  I think to a degree, the law of averages is just coming into play a bit with him.  So as he plays more and more, you just flat out get the decent days mixed in too.  Which is just going to happen.
    • Good point. He's definitely better in 10-15 yards. I think that's his biggest improvement. But he wasn't 3-10 +15, he was 3-7, with at least one drop (minor but still). And with multiple passes at 14 yards completed. This passing chart doesn't look like at By one, lol. He threw more "deep" passes than Mahomes (NOT comparing him to Mahomes in a skill way lol), or at least more beyind 10 yards.
    • Karlaftis and Danna have been pretty inconsistent so teams have been doubling Jones and able to contain their pass rush.   But the good thing is that yesterday, we schemed well against Steve Spags Defense, Canales married the surrounding personnel with his QB through play designs within his comfort zone and was able to get downfield at will.  He was able to execute higher difficulty throws and look a lot more comfortable.  It tells me that Canales has a good system in mind, and had an edge gameplanning wise against Spagnuolo - which is nice to see.  It's a bit to see-saw at times with either going way too pass heavy or way too run heavy, but I think he's finding out what works.  It takes time to have it come together, and sure, I could see regression happen against a better front-7, but this was good for the entire system gelling.
