Plaxico coming to Charlotte?

LOL Trouble past. LOL You call shooting himself in the leg with his own gun in public a trouble past? Really!! That ain't a trouble past. That was just been pure stupid on his part in the first place. It ain't like Burress went out and raped a women like Big Ben did or something like that. The guy just shoot himself like a moron. LOL

ummm....burress has done a lot more than shoot himself in the leg. he's been nothing but a screw up everywhere he's been. he's gotten into trouble with his teams and had quite a bit of legal trouble as well.

seriously...i don't want that cancer to be a panther.

Because the Panthers would be getting an even bigger headache, and I question whether the return on investment would be worth it.

There are reasons why Plaxico is still unemployed.

I understand that part of that is he wanted a multi-year deal and wanted big money. I suspect he can see the writing on the wall and like a lot of guys sees the real possibility of not playing at all this year. If he wants to play for us he will play on an incentive contract. If not, then we will pass. As for him being a headache, he has that history. It would definitely be something you would have to check out carefully. But if we give him no guaranteed money we can cut him if he gives any trouble. Guys can change if the culture demands it. Honestly I don't know where we are as a locker room right now or if they want to take that chance. But as a football player he could be a steal and surely Shockey worked out last year.

LOL Your really going overboard with this one ain't you. LOL Burress had a loaded gun in public. Big deal. 10s of thousands of people carry loaded guns in public everyday in this country and not counting crimials and cops neither. The only reason Burress went to jail is because his gun went off in a public place. It didn't hurt anyone accept himself. He was put in prison for discharging the gun off in a public place. It ain't like he did it on purpose or tried to kill someone for some reason. It was an accident. But firing it in public place accident or not in NYC is agaist the law. Again it was accident and no one got hurt. Burress ain't no kind of trouble maker and doesn't have no real past of been one for as I know outside of the gun going off in public. He has no trouble past plain and simple.

You sure about that?

Might wanna do some research (starting with the domestic violence complaints and subsequent restraining orders against him).

plaxico burress caught a game winning catch in the super bowl. i mean how much more "clutch" does he need to be?

Freddie Mitchell caught 4th and 26.

Let's be real here. Burress is dumb, mega-dumb, A lot of his issues have arisen out of that stupidity (not having a permit for his gun, as an example).

He is a magnet for trouble, and not worth the effort it would take to babysit him.

I wouldn't want Burress even if you put a gun to my leg.

It's not going to happen regardless, I hope the people saying they would like to give him a chance know that and are just enjoying the debate.

My reasoning is that the Panthers aren't a team needing that one extra piece to contend. They are a team building and growing into a long term success. The offense is pretty well loaded with offensive options.

Take 89 out of our receiving corps and we have Lafell, Gettis, Adams, Pilares, Armanti( or equivalent scrub). That line up will strike fear into the league's DC's. If injury were to take Smith out our playoff chances are severely limited. So yes, we could use Plax.

First bit of logic so far. I'm on the fence on giving him a chance, but this makes sense. We all would be screaming bloody murder at the coaching staff if Smith went down in an offense that relies on passing as much as we will...

if the panthers were interested they would have called him by now.

same with any team.

like mr. scot said, there's a reason that guy is still unemployed.

no one wants the baggage he brings.

no one is going to pick him up until training camp at the earliest. he will be picked up by some team desperate....really desperate for an old and troubled WR.

Considering how easy it is to Google something would it be that difficult to look into it yourself before making a statements like this?

    • KC has a very good defense this year. It is 5th overall. Yes, still worse than last year, but their offense is considerably worse. Their passing D may be their "weakness" but they still allow fewer than 20 ppg. BY completed several deep passes yesterday, and he was able to threaten downfield in ways he didn't seem capable of before the benching. I'm not necessarily worried about his ability to connect deep anymore. What to me was impressive was that he did all this without a run game. We used the pass to set up what little running success we had. Wild.
    • Solid and fair assessment.   I will say, one of the big things I noticed yesterday was that he wasn't shy to step up into the pocket in the face of pressure.  He's trusting the IOL.  And they took care of Chris Jones yesterday.  We had clean pockets but also good success rate vs. pressure which just hasn't been the case with Bryce.   If he has more confidence the OL gets it done and he can navigate and step up for throws, that's huge.  It's one of the biggest things that's held him back.  He was previously bailing quickly and just too easily throwing away or making dead plays.     He was finding his 2nd to 3rd reads within structure/without bailing in the pocket.  That was nice to see, as much concern I have with him.  And the overall limitations will always be there. Time to back it up this week against the Bucs.
    • Suddenly the Cowgirls look like our best chance for a win remaining. I think the Bucs are playing better than the Falcons of late.  Our lone game versus the dirty birds is in the ATL where we always struggle.  The Cardinals are marginally better than I thought they would be. We are not beating the Eagles, they are starting to roll. I'm saying two at most, next week at home versus the Bucs and the Cowgirls.
