Do you honestly think that Richardson wants this dude on our team?

I would say it is about 50/50 the Panthers sign him. And yes, I'm sure Richardson wouldn't mind Plax on the team given the right contract.

I never mentioned newtons success. You read what you wanted to apparently. That was in regards to judgements made upon him as a person.

I don't care if we don't sign burress. I just want us to have some kind of insurance at the WR position. How many years must we go into a season with the only hope being smitty. The guy isn't getting any younger. Oh and we are waaay too homerish on david gettis. I like the guy too but let's be real.

He could be a nice veteran guy for LaFell and Gettis to follow. He may only have a few more years left... but by that time, I think LaFell and Gettis will be well-established enough to start. The stuff that happened with Burress a few years ago doesn't concern me... that stuff is in the past. I would absolutely love to have a veteran guy like him. It could be like when Keyshawn was with us for a season... except we hopefully wouldn't make the boneheaded decision to let Burress go after only one year.

Cam is 6'5" and Plex 6'5'' this added to the fact that most cover guys are not even 6' would be like playing keep away with your little brother except on a grander scale.

Would rather have 1 guy that wants to be part of something Special than 3 playing for the money!!!! You show you can play and make the folks around you better you will get the money.

If its not a me thing but a we thing I would like to see him GROWL next season!

He's already begged the Giants, Eagles and Dolphins before the Panthers. He wants to play for anyone that will pay him what he thinks he is worth, it's ONLY about the money to him.

Not really.

Actually it is that simple, and for the record the naysayers on this board aren't the only ones doubting him.

Plaxico's been peddling his services to pretty much anyone that would listen, and nobody's biting. That includes the team he won his Super Bowl ring with. The Giants balked at the idea of having a reunion with him.

Heck, the Panthers (and many others) could have taken a shot with Randy Moss last season, but they didn't. And that was at a time when our receiver situation was arguably an even bigger enigma than it is now. Moss was available for a look again this offseason, but as before, the Panthers showed no interest.

So why, now, should they take an interest in Burress?
