Plaxico coming to Charlotte?

Enlighten me, exactly what am I wrong about?

What exactly are you "afraid" of that Plaxico's presence could do this teams pyshe?

aside from your spelling, this was the biggie...

I bet the same group of folks who don't want a Plaxico calibur of player to sign with us, also didn't want the Panthers to draft Newton beacuse of a laptop, wanted to trade Steve Smith, etc.. etc.. simply put these people if they had their way would have the Panthers fighting for last place in the NFC South indefinitely, as long as their piece of mind of fielding 53 choir boys is kept in tack.
consider yourself enlightened.

not afraid of anything. he would be more of a hassle and a bother than he's worth, imo. he'd be a distraction.

Plax haters are just stubborn and want to prove that the FO is amazing and that LaFell and Gettis are the next Victor Cruz and Larry Fitzgerald. Patience, people. Plax on a one-year deal would only help our young WRs. They'll take the reins soon enough.

another wrong assumption, but whatever.

i'm done with the discussion.

I don't get the mentality of some so called fans on this board, who always are negative and have comments against the Pathers bringing in some player X who could just possibly be that missing piece that gets us over the top.

Because we don't believe that Burress is the "missing piece that gets us over the top".

As has been mentioned, offense wasn't the weak spot last year, and we have young receivers like LaFell who are quite possibly primed to take the next step.

It's really just that simple.

have u even seen some off the catches me has made like the 2 catches against green bay or the one against the bucs

and if your trying to tell me that catch against the vikings on a long 4th down wasnt clutch then tell me what clutch is

plax had more tds than smith it doesnt mean hes better than him

Clutch is Smitty. So saying Lafell is clutch is ridiculous.

Here and there he makes some great plays but when all he does is every other game, he'll grab a nice catch does not make him clutch. As a third option, he should be playing like a Mario Manningham in the playoffs last season. Just don't be dissapointed this season when Lafell put of the same stats as he did last season being the no.2 WR this year. I do hope he gets better but he's not someone like Moose yet, and that's not clutch.

Predicting the future is a risky business on either side of the coin so you should be careful about stating that he absolutely could only do good here when you know the opposite is possible...but let's be real about who we're predicting for as well.

It's not like we're looking at Larry Fitzgerald who's suddenly landed as a free agent and would put our (already good and definitely not the problem for our team) offense over the proverbial hump. He's a slightly better than average receiver who happens to be tall. He's also 34 years old and WAY on the back side of his career.

If he were already here I'd be ok with having him here and I would expect that LaFell (who seems to have developed the ability to catch anything that's thrown in his zip code anyway) will beat him out on the depth chart or that our pretty damn good receiving tight end might be an acceptable red zone target as well. But he's not here and I am not inclined to believe that if we bring him in it will make that much difference for the team so I am against getting him.

If this makes me a Plax hater so be it...I prefer to think of myself as being against signing every FA wide receiver we ever see hit the market just because, hey, we know his name so he MUST be the missing piece.

Agree.

There are some fans that thinks that only the players on their favorite team are better than everyone else. It's just bc they won't open their eyes and admit the truth to themselves. I love Lafell and Gettis but they clearly ain't going to put any fear into the other team DC. If Smitty goes down, good luck trying to have Lafell and Gettis win you games.
