Update: Bobcats New Home & Away Jerseys revealed

CCS- you did read the article right?

The team confirmed this change will have no effect on rebranding in the future and they will do the marketing study when the Hornets name becomes available.

If you ran a company and just relaunched new logos and uniforms- wouldn't you try to eliminate the rebranding talk by committing yourself to the brand?

Obviously, they realize the Bobcats brand is stained and thats why they dropped the name Bob from the uniforms. I don't blame them for trying to distance themselves from Bob Johnson as much as possible. The full rebrand would cost a lot so they are trying to salvage the brand by moving away from the Orange that Bob liked and dropping his name from as many things as possible.

I've been a fan from day 1, I was in uptown when Stern, Bob Johnson, and McCrory launched this failure of a brand. I will support the team as long as the front of the jersey says Charlotte- no matter what the nickname is.

The Bobcats are on their 3rd jersey and 3rd color change in 8 seasons. The brand has been an epic failure by any measure.

They are attempting to polish a turd and I wish them luck.

See my avy jgibs that we're STILL using. Guess which owner of ours commissioned it? It wasnt MJ. LOL. You Hornets guys are sad and delusional. You told us months ago a name change to the Hornets was definite. You told us NO was changing theirs. They still havent applied for it and will be the Hornets at least 2 more years. Your movement failed, we're still the Bobcats, our web addy is still bobcats.com. You Hornets guys have been exposed.

King T- your a liar.

I have never said it was definate. It is what I and many others want.

You seem to paying awful close attention to what's happening in New Orleans, you worried?

Bob didn't commission it. You saw the logo he picked and that has long ago been discarded and thrown into the trash. Your avi is the 3rd logo (4th if you include the color change).

I would give you a tutorial on our logos with pictures but, if your a fan you should know all 4 logos and when they were launched and when Bob sold the team.

The name is being phased out as much as possible.

Why would I be worried? New Orleans could care less about you guys and your facebook page. Your movement was nothing but a short lived Bob Johnson hate group that only appeals to rednecks. Like I said months ago, your grandkids will be cheering for the Bobcats and giving their money to us. You still think people care about that empty lot on Tyvola Rd. All that history and nostalgia is lost. This is Bobcat Country sir, get out of the 1980s.

I'm still baffled that MJ is capable of actually negotiating with Adidas to make these new uniforms, I can't wait for the day that he pays of Adidas and Stern so that the Bobcats can officially have Jordan Brand uniforms.

But real talk, how long do you guys think it will take before Mark Cuban and the Mavs file a lawsuit against the Bobcats for copy infringement and stealing trademark elements of the Dallas Mavericks uniform.

I personally like the new uniforms but Cuban like MJ is the kind of guy that will do anything to make some extra cash.

New Orleans doesn't need to worry about our Facebook page. What we want is irrelevant to them.

New Orleans wants to change the name to something that has local meaning and they don't give a poo what Charlotte does or does not want. Your point was stupid.

Like usual, your argument always deteriorates into making racist statements. What is a redneck? Is former Mayor Gant a Redneck? What about Dell Curry? Is Muggsy a Redneck? Is Sage Steele a Redneck?

Who is us? I hope my kids have a team that they can spend money on... How do you get any of that money?

I don't care about an empty lot on Tyvola- it means nothing to me.

The new uniforms are great. The deemphasize Bob and slowly we are stepping away from his failed legacy.

Why didn't you respond about the logo? I thought you were a fan... How can you not know that the logo isn't Bob's?

    • This is a wild statement it’s to late to save his season with six games left? That mountain of bad film as a rookie with trash coaching a weak azz line and dismal WRs. Guys that can’t catch on with other teams or guys traded to teams that are subpar at best. We put Bryce in a terrible situation to start his career does that matter to you or you feel he should’ve, as a rookie elevate this dumpster fire. If you’re giving him a fair assessment judge him off the last four games a good o-line decent WRs still not comparable to any other young QB WR room Hou (tank/nico..) Tua (Hill/Waddle) Caleb (Moore/Rome/Allen) let’s see what he can do with a decent structure around him for the next few weeks then let’s revisit how we’re going to grade or assess his performances.
    • As a bit of counterpoint, if he wanted to continue his professional career then handling it like a mature adult was the only option. Dude had been playing like absolute ass and needed to own it. It's great that he did but it's not like he didn't have a large amount of self interest in doing so. Not picking on Bryce specifically here, as this applies to any player or even anyone struggling early in their career. And he still has a long way to go, but signs are positive.
    • I agree he could still develop, but I think that could still be developed in practice. Just after a scary injury like that, I'm nervous to see him get reps in a live game situation when the best possible outcome is nothing more than worsening our draft selection. That said, I'm 100% not a doctor, so if he's clear to play, he wants to play, and there's no potential of aggravating this injury (which by all accounts it doesn't seem that is the case for this type of injury) then go for it, I guess.   But you hit the nail on the head. This draft class is really impressive. I can't remember the last time I was so impressed with a rookie that I'd actually prefer shutting him down. His game is so apparent that he doesn't need to prove anything at this point. Can't remember the last time that happened!
