Should the Carolina Panthers be the "North Carolina Panthers"?

This thread reminds me of two little kids arguing...

Kid #1: "It's mine"

Kid #2: "No, it's mine"

Time for the parents to step in and tell them to share.

If that happens, your dad better watch out because my dad can beat up your dad.

i live in sc and travel between the 2 states on a regular basis. to be quite honest, there's not much of a difference between either state...except most south carolinians don't bother to go to myrtle beach, but apparently north carolinians do.

Us North Carolinians LOVE going to BroadWay @ The Beach! That place is always slammed with women every weekend!

What city are they in?

Jets/Giants both play in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

So New York is a pretty vague thing.....Technically, the Giants for example don't play in the state or have a practice faculty or headquarters. They should be the Jersey Giants or as some suggest the E. Rutherford Giants

I know there are a lot of great fans in South Carolina that may feel a little butt-hurt asking this...

but why do the Panthers (and Hurricanes for that matter) use Carolina instead of North Carolina? What about the "Charlotte Panthers"? Is it because it is just rolls off the tongue easier? Do they just want a larger fan base?

No. Without South Carolina, there would be no Carolina Panthers. Period. End of discussion (yet one more time).
