Should the Carolina Panthers be the "North Carolina Panthers"?

Considering the actual Panther logo is purposely designed to look like the states of NC and SC, this could bring on the need for another logo change which ultimately good bring this site down for good....

I say do it......Go Charlotte Panthers!

Burn it down!!

I've never heard of that. Do you have a link to back that up?

The Panthers logo as you see it is fairly clear and consists of the head of a black snarling panther outlined in blue. It is shaped to resemble the combined borders of North and South Carolina. According to article in the press, the name Panthers was picked by Mark Richardson, who is the son of owner Mark Richardson. He also suggested that the team colors be black, blue and silver.

I would be curious to know how much, if any, tax dollars from Charlotte residents and NC residents goes towards the stadium before making the statement that they are NC's team and NC's team alone. If we pay the majority or the entirety of the upkeep, etc. it would be hard to argue otherwise.

Owner Jerry Richardson has turned the Carolina Panthers into a financial powerhouse without taxpayer subsidies. The Panthers are one of the few NFL teams that play in a stadium built without taxpayer funds. Bank of America Stadium (originally Ericsson Stadium), constructed in 1996, was the first football stadium financed on the strength of $120 million in PSL sales. For the 2007 season the Panthers added 206 lower level seats (each seat has a one-time PSL fee of $15,000 putting $3 million in Richardson's pockets). Expanding on their strong market for single-game suites, the team created the Champions Row programs, which allows existing suite holders to rent a second skybox for the day for $15,000.

I'm so tired of the Olympic basketball team referring to themselves as "U.S.A."

I mean that's just dumb. They need to just be the Washington DCers and stop trying make the world think they represent everyone.

Do they have cities in the Olympics now?
