I40 road trip

Coming from someone who goes back and forth between Knoxville and Memphis a lot, I-40 in Tennessee is the most boring drive ever, period. There is absolutely nothing to see other than passing through those two cities and Nashville, in addition to thousands upon thousands of trees. You will be pulling your hair out at your boredom. Trust me, it's not worth paying for gas. I'm assuming you live in Charlotte? Catch the southbound Amtrak Crescent to New Orleans if you want to see the South from a different view. That's a great ride right there. It's only around $200 round trip - cheaper than gas for most people.

The drive on 65 through Indiana to Indianapolis was torture...I couldn't imagine a worse drive
