Darrell Green at Mini-Camp Practice

Other than Smith, Lafell and Gettis (2010) none of those guys you mentioned haven't caught one pass in the NFL. At least the ones on my list have contributed a bit. Washington's 5, 6 and 7th receivers have caught a few passes and touchdowns for that matter.

Ajirotutu has caught passes and TD's in a reg season game.

Maybe he didn't want to play under his father's shadow. Those are huge shoes to fill. Chase Minnifield chose to play in Washington and not the Browns. Maybe for the same reasons.

Maybe... or maybe his dad advised him against it for some of the things he praised the Panthers for.

Are you two really comparing the two WR cores? Both of them have entirely new looks this year, so I think it's unfair to judge them right now.

Gettis back from injury, rookies here and there, LaFell starting, etc.

The addition of a few FA's in Washington, as well as Moss & Armstrong (I believe?) returning from a few games of injury.

It's not really comparable until at least the pre-season.

Side note... I remember talking to DG and telling him that Captain Munnerlyn was a good CB but he was too short. LOL. Darrel Green was only 5'9" and must have thought I was an idiot.....

Nice story.

Okay, thought you said he asked if it was Richardson not "a Richardson". Still surprised he would just let the "too short" comment pass, but it's possible.

By all accounts, Green is one of the nicest guys you could ever meet. I could see it.

Yeah, I wouldn't expect him to get pissed... would have been funny for him to say: Oh yeah, well what about that Darrell Green guy, he's in the hall of fame and he was only 5'8"

You know something that struck me about this?

Green very easily could have called the team and requested to be on the field or get some other VIP treatment, but he didn't. Instead, he showed up as just one of the fans, and not even a "VIP fan". He was just out there among the masses, like any other average joe who didn't play 20 years and earn a spot in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

I find that very cool.

Yup, thought the same thing to myself at the time... he didn't expect any special treatment.

It occurred to me however that he might have wanted to watch his son without his son knowing he was there...

If you're talking Dan Snyder's Redskins, I'd agree.

The organization definitely isn't what it once was.

Yup, JKC is rolling in his grave... it concerns me that the Panthers could end up with a twit like Synder owning the team someday.

Possible...or perhaps without distracting attention away from him.

    • I want to throw in how much easier it is for a QB to develop and improve with a good oline.  Huge credit to the front office for spending the money on our two guards.  Cade Mays also had a 2nd really good game starting at center.  Love how he has developed and hope he's the real deal. Look at what Stroud is dealing with now in Houston after injuries and problems with their oline.  Strouds accuracy has been greatly affected as it seems like he doesn't trust his protection. Canales is doing a great job developing Bryce.  I think the QB whisperer might be for real. And obviously big props to Bryce.  First round pick that looks horrible in his first year.  Different coaches and systems.  Fans and media are calling him the biggest bust in NFL history and he looked like it in the first two games this year.  Gets benched.  Young man keep his cool and just continued to work and only worry about what he can control.  I hope things continue like this and we end up with a great success story. Bryce Young kept pounding.
    • Outside of Philly (who currently is #3 in pass defense) the rest of our remaining opponents are bottom 1/3 of the League in that regard.  Let's see what Bryce can do versus bad pass Ds.
