David Stern asks Jim Rome if he still beats his wife

Just because it is a legit question doesnt preclude Jim Rome from being a dick in the way he asked it. Though I may be biased since I think Jim Rome sounds like a dick every time he opens his mouth

Realistically you are never going to learn anything from asking the commissioner of the NBA whether his league is rigged, but you can at least back up your accusations with evidence rather than "people are talking about it"

Granted Stern, even if it was, would never admit the draft was rigged. A lot of people do think it is however rigged. Maybe he was thinking Stern would say the draft system needs to be adjusted. I also agree Rome is a dick as well.

There has to be a more transparent way to do the draft lottery.

You are right. The way the lottery is done now, unverifiable by the general public, it is not surprising there are concerns about the process being corrupt.

It needs to be conducted by an independent accounting agency, not paid by the NBA, but directly by each individual team in the league. The entire selection process needs to be covered real-time by one or more of the sports channels.

Done right, it could be a money generator for the NBA and at the same time dispel most concerns of the selections being fixed.

They could weight the percentages more top heavy. You wouldn't eliminate the lottery but the worst teams aka the Bobcats would have more than a 25% chance at the top pick

Based on the historic results of the lottery, where the worst team seldom gets the first pick, this seems like a good idea.
