Beason makes splash in return to practice

Still waiting for the draft analysis that said Otah wouldn't play through pain......................

Even if there is one and I didn't see it, it is patently false since he played with a high ankle sprain his senior year.

nothing here...........

nothing here either............

Link or I cal BS.......................

Scouts questioned his toughness....that is easy to find. As I said in my other post replying....I couldn't find anyone actually using the verbage to directly link that to not playing through pain.

But what do you think the toughness question marks where in regards to?

On phone now...will look during the game tonight. Maybe I connected dots...08 wasn't yesterday so I could be incorrect but I recall an Observer article (maybe not though).

Saying you aren't tough or aggressive is very different from saying you won't play through pain which he clearly did. Once again you are stretching to try and win a point which you clearly remembered incorrectly. Why not just admit you were wrong and move on instead of keep arguing. It isn't a big deal, don't make it one.....

Don't want to burst anyone's bubble but Beason is still far from being back to 100% of where he was pre-injury. Rehab is usually 11 months and he is only 9 months into his rehab. The rehab is all about getting back his explosiveness, flexibility and ability to torque his ankle with no problem. He is still working on that and likely will still be doing that as the season unfolds. Hopefully he gets to 100% this year but it isn't like breaking a bone where once it heals you are fine. It is about learning how to gain full functionality from your achilles which is never as good as new.

The go ahead was for him to up his rehab and work out more vigorously to continue work on getting back to 100%.

Edwards is an older DT. Not sure he needs lots of reps.

He has missed a year of football. Its not a far stretch to say he is out of shape. Not even doing individual drills is worrisome when the recovery time for that injury is 6-9 months at the most. He should be at least be doing some kind of conditioning at this point and is not so he is behind schedule.

Otah was always refered to as a mauler....in those same scouting reports that questioned his toughness.

Still goes back to what can you connect the dots in regards to those toughness question marks. They claimed he was a raw mauler yet questioned his toughness.....seems pretty clear in hindsight.

If you keep trying to stretch things so much I swear you are going to pull something.............

Stretch things? By saying scouts said he was a mauler yet questioned his toughness?

And that view certainly appears true to date

Lets not be obtuse. Stretching things is saying that a scout questioning his toughness as a function of aggression is the same as saying that he doesn't play through pain. One is very different from the other and the not playing through pain was disproven by the fact that he did play through a very painful high ankle sprain his senior year. I also believe that he was negatively portrayed because he played through the sprain which did affect his performance and never complained about it until he skipped elements of the combine.

So to reiterate the original argument, the Panthers had no way to know he would not play through pain now because he had a history of doing just that in college. That really is my last comment and summary lest I get pulled back into another 10 page back and forth while you try and continue to justify your obviously faulty memory.

I acknowledged yesterday the possbilty that I just connected dots and didn't remember it 100% correctly....

But the toughness question was clearly raised at draft time that it was an issue.....and that never seemed to point to the manner in which he actually played the game itself on the field. So it goes back to what exactly where they talking about in regards to being worried about his toughness? We know now....what were they suggesting then?

Sad. Just sad that a thread about Beason, is dominated by CRA being wrong, as usual, and can't find a link to support what he says is easy to find... About another player, an offensive lineman!

Way to go.

Beason says ya lack focus.

Lol

I didn't post a link bc 55 didn't need one questioning Otah's toughness.

I already said, I couldn't find the verbage connecting the dots that it referred to playing through pain.

All I ask is what were the toughness knocks on him about when those same guys called him a physical mauler on the field?
