Cam has already changed the NFL

Cam Newton is not a running QB; he is a QB who can run. He is John Elway reincarnated. People like yourself can't see it because all you see is the color of his skin.

2nd in the league in rushing tds.....He could be purple as far as I know.

They aren't comparing RG3 and Favre skills wise. The writer is making the point that everyone, well most everyone, loved Favre and had nothing bad to say about him. His last two seasons notwithstanding. People feel the same about RG3, they love him. I believe he is on his way to becoming the most popular player in the NFL.

What people, skins fans? Redskin fans feel this way because you guys have had pure crap at QB since Doug Williams. Skin fans are like a guy that has been in prison for 25 years. The first piece of ass he gets when he gets out is the greatest piece of ass ever. Skin fans are like that guy that met some random hottie and got so excited that he told her he could get her photographed and make her famous.

I didn't know Gregg Rosenthal was a Skins fan or had been in jail.

Moon, Cunningham, Stewart, McNair, Culpepper, McNabb, Vick.....

You guys act like Newton is the first big name black qb.

And amusingly enough, Newton's skill set and style of play bear greater similarity to a couple of white QBs (Elway, Favre) than to any of the guys mentioned here.

How did Cam bring the downright intentional hate that was shown to him unto himself?

The media was so out for blood with Cam that they were treating him and still treating him like he was a common criminal who needed to be watched like a hawk...based on WHAT???

Can any of us clearly state for sure that Cam did what the media was made so much of when he was 18? And why did they choose to ignore his time at Blinn and Auburn? They simply ignored anyone who had something positive to say about Cam and went after the one or two people who criticized him and blew up their viewpoint because it matched the image they were pushing..

All you have to do is look no further than Le Bron James to see how much the media can intentionally destroy someone image for the sake of pushing their agenda.. Please remind me again what exactly did he do that folks hate him so much? Or yes, he played ESPN at their own game and they didn't like it. Funny how quickly the media dragged down LeBron's image because he played the same game they were playing. Players leave teams all the time for greener pasture..So what..Le Bron was on a team for 4 years. Took them to the Championship and they still didn't build around him. Now he's a villian because ESPN turned him playing their silly game into a claim that he left a team high and dry and so not only should be scorned. He should never win a championship to they can continue to jeer him...REALLY???

The media went out of their way to spin everything Cam did into something negative to suit their agenda. They could have easily spun all of Cam's accomplishments and even his time at Blinn as a sign of a kid learning from his mistakes but they didn't because they saw how much hate him helping Auburn win was generating and they simply wanted to milk. It was much easier to tear him down and malign Cam than play up his accomplishments.

Sad, but it's clear folks love to hate. Especially when given permission to do so by our so called responsible media.

I did say "some". He didnt have to do the laptop thing and he could have talked a little more with his father about the pay for play thing. But i agree with you that the media blew his character issues way out of proportion. He is a good kid and a hard worker another season like the last one and the critics will officially be done. Remember i agree with you.

Yeah everyone loved him.

Especially the Falcons win they traded him to GB because he couldn't get along with the coaches and players.

Yeah, cause he didnt just break any rushing records this year.

He broke passing records too.

I'm not arguing that at all. Just wondering why RG is getting the press and not Luck.

Because Griffith has been attending OTAs since the draft and Luck just started yesterday.

Surprise, Luck is on the front of NFL.com today.
