Cam has already changed the NFL

Disagree.

Why?

Runners with big time arms that struggle with accuracy.

Winners, Athletes.

Marketable infectious smile.

Captivated a fanbase and gave the Broncos faith that they would win a SB with him at the helm.

They are literally the exact same player, although Cam may be a little better in the long run.

Cam has the same agility and sight as some of the elite RBs in the league. Elway did not have the moves Cam does. Im not saying Cam is better than Elway, just not really a good comparison.

Also Elway is the 4th leading passer of all time, not really considered a runner imo.

Yeah, John Elway was not the best person for the comparison. Elway was that guy back then....maybe not to the same extent but he was not a statue coming into the league....he was the athelete

lol Cam has nothing to do with it. If RG3 was sucking it up in camp do you think his name would be on everyones lips? No. RG3 is getting press because RG3 is a bad bad man.

yes, he plays for the redskins.

Elway was a physical freak coming into the NFL. Shanahan molded his skills into one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play the game.

Bro you are talking about a guy 25 years ago. And it took Elway to get a RB before he finally won his Super Bowls.

Comparing John Elway to fuging RG3 is laughable to say the least.

Shanahan has never been able to replicate the success he had with Elway. He's had a lot of chances to do it to. Nobody actually believes he's a QB guru or even close.

I'm not even sure what this thread has devolved into. Cam has lessened the stigma that black quarterbacks receive, but that stigma only exists recently because of guys like Vick, Young and Russel. McNair, McNabb and Culpepper were all large, athletic, black quarterbacks that tore this league up at various points in their careers. Griffin does deserve alot of the praise he gets, but the reason he isn't getting that whole "can't digest an NFL playbook" or "can't properly read a defense" crap (AKA, talking heads insinuating black quarterbacks aren't smart enough for the NFL) is because Cam came into this league and shredded defenses weekly through the air.

RG3 may end up being better than Cam, he could have a better rookie season, Cam could also be a one year wonder (not likely), the only way to know is to let the season run its course. I will say this though, Cam was more successful in college and played against much tougher competition there. Even though RG3 is faster, he's not as elusive. Cam also possesses ideal height for a pocket QB and also has the size to withstand hits from NFL linebackers after taking off (or while in the pocket).

You may be slightly delusional though because you really think the Redskins are run better organizationally than the Panthers of late. Shanahan is not nearly as good a coach as the talking heads would have you believe. Talk about his rings as much as you'd like but Trent Dilfer has a ring.

LOL, RG3 made it easy on himself/

He attend ONE college and was excellent both in class and on the football field as well as his personal life.

He tried to make it easy on himself by going to a 2nd rate college in the big12, but still couldn't get it done.

The fact that Cam came into Auburn for 1 year and nearly single handedly won a national championship after an undefeated season in the SEC is actually quite remarkable, since we want to compare college careers.

At any rate, the first time either one of these guys gets injured and their respective team goes to hell, the "option quarterback is changing the NFL" hype will fade.
