No i do not. Once camp is in full swing and RG3 has a poor practice or two i expect a few negitive headlines and on-air rants.

This is why drafting Kirk Cousins in the 4th round was the worst selection in the draft.

One or two bad games in a row, and the whispers will start.

Instead of using the pick to build around RG3, they waste it on another rookie QB, except this one has NO PRESSURE on him.

Cam brought some of the bad press on himself but the comparisons of him to other "black QB's" was hog wash, now that a "black QB" has taken over the league, and yes it only takes one year now for someone to have "arrived", QB's who fit that mold will have a perceptibly easier time convincing the talking heads that they are the next big thing. RG3 has absolutely earned a lot of his praise but he would have gone through what Cam did if Cam hadn't set the league on fire last year.

See thats the problem right there. Cam, hasn't taken over the league. He put up some amazing numbers sure but he is nowhere near the "Super hero" Panther fans claim him to be. I didn't see his name in the MVP hunt so "taking over the league" is a little far fetched IMO.

No doubt. Cam is the face of Under Armor, the fastest growing/hottest selling sports gear out there right now, has high jersey sales, and is one of 2-3 NFL players to be endorsed by Gatorade.

Not to mention it's damn near impossible to not click on a sports website and see some article on Cam & the panthers.

PS: Do you think Florio and his NBC affiliated ProFootBallTalk, who basically have their pick of any sports writer available, chose Darin Gantt because they want to know how Thomas Davis' knee is rehabbing? No, Cam is one of the hottest players and a true phenom.

The great thing about Cam is, he always made it exciting. Even when we lost, I was still excited about the potential we have. In previous years, we would lose and it got to the point where I wasn't as pumped to watch the next game. I have watched every single game the last 6 years, and now you can expect some great plays every game. That is the Cam Effect, he always gives you the confidence that you can win every single game. RG3 will be the same for the Skins games, even though his has not taken a snap.

It came to a point in 2010, where id rather work on Sundays than watch the Panthers. That was my lowest point as a fan. But yea man, you think the show was exciting last year, just wait till this year. We're about to take off!

Only concern with RGIII is he runs into contact....and he ain't built to do that in this league. So he may be a guy who misses a few to injury every year. I don't think that is a taught thing....just instinct when you run.

Look at how much hype RG3 is getting. The media is hyping him a lot higher than Luck. Why is that?? Its because of the "Cam Effect" on the NFL. The whole time leading up to Cam's rookie season, everyone was wondering how big of a bust he would be. Now, with RG3, everyone is looking at how big of a star he will be. Just goes to show you another example of the "Cam Effect". Welcome to the new era, where the Joe Montana and John Elway clone QBs may not be the most desired.

I agree with this and I've posted this before.

Cam proved last season he can take a beating. His body is big enough, like Big Ben, to take hits. I mean he's usually bigger than the person delivering the hit FFS. RG3 could end up being like a Mike Vick type of player. Vick is good when healthy, but he also misses a couple of games of year.

If RG3 thinks he going to be able to drop back and then dive head first for the first down or run around like a chicken with his head cut off like he did for his entire career in the B12, dude is not going to make it through a season.
