2011 was my last year as a Panther/NFL player

Mare has this year left to prove something. We have too much money tied up in him and we wouldnt gain much by cutting him now.

It's true that we would only save about $600,000 against the cap this year, and it's also true that we would still have some dead money next year. So cap wise, it's not that big of a deal one way or the other.

I just have little faith in the guy, and for what we are paying him, it is a luxury that probably isn't needed. Bite the bullet now, find someone cheaper, and hopefully someone that can at least attempt an occasional 50 yarder. This isn't Fox's offense anymore; we don't need to spend big money on an elite place kicker.

I am going to go out on a limb and say Butler. Rivera likes his LB and S. With the seemingly abundant amount of talent at S right now, I can see him keeping an extra S over that last CB. Going more 3-4-4 type of looks.

Just my angle,, and GOOOOOOO CATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

None of the above would be that shocking to see let go.

How about Jeff Otah???? I think he has a real good chance of being gone this year. I know it is a contract year for him, but it seems to me that RR might not want to "just" keep him around. We need players that PLAY not just take up a spot, have tons of potential but never see Game days.

We'd be gaining more wins. He was the sole reason we lost at least a couple last season.

Ehhh... some of those games were a combination of him and the zebras. Still, I've never been one to blame kickers. If a handful more offensive and defensive plays are executed better, then the kick probably will have no effect on the outcome of the game.

We know Mare isn't clutch, so we have got to make sure we don't put him in clutch situations.
