Bump...

A friend turned me on to this...

American-Assassin.jpg

Excellent... a prequel...

So I went back and read the first in the series as released...

Even better... literally couldn't put it down...

The Vince Flynn series is awesome! Started with American Assasin as well, and now I'm working on Executive Power. They have all been solid so far.

Done:

Lone Survivor

Seal Target Geronimo (Bin Laden mission)

Just Kids (Patti Smith bio)

My Cross to Bear (Gregg Allman bio)

In progress:

Life (Keith Richards bio)

Lone Survivor was excellent. I plan to read The Heart and the Fist by Eric Greitens before I ship out

i heard that patti smith bio was really good.

I'll be very honest- this is one of the best written books I've ever read. It's more about Patti's life with photographer Robert Mapplethorpe than it is a bio, although her life is certainly the story.

An excellent read, highly recommended.

had a buddy read Keith's bio during Christmas 2010. he loved it. I'm finishing up Bowling Alone and while in Borders the other day with my kids. There were a couple that caught my eye.

Can't remember the titles at the moment but when I go back, I shall snag them.

The Bridge Over the River Kwai by Pierre Boulle.

Also reading "Rising Tide: The Great Mississippi Flood of 1927 and How it Changed America." Really interesting account of the history of the Mississippi river and its flooding of the Delta Plains and how man tried to control the river.

Already finished "American Sniper: The Autobiography of the Most Lethal Sniper in US Military History" If you guys like Vince Flynn you have to read this. Astounding story about Navy Seal Chris Kyle who amassed more than 150 confirmed kills over in Iraq.
