What are your top 3 concerns heading into this season?

Recommended Posts

1. Secondary

2. OL- may surprise some but this is huge. We are an offensive team. RT is still an issue, LG is an unknown....LT and RG are probably positions where players are declining and not climbing. Need a solid season and healthy one from this group.

3. Chud - I have voiced before I thought Chud has become overrated on this board. Iffy play calling early last year.... I think Cam was a bigger reason for the success than genious play calling. But Cam avoiding a sophomore slump with be heavily tied into the offensive play calling this season. A year of Cam in this scheme is going to provide new challenges as Ds will have time to tinker

Agree secondary is a concern.....

OL will be a strength even if Otah doesn't play

Maybe Chud struggled early because he was still installing the offense through week 6 or 7 and didn't know what he had with no offseason. That won't happen again.....

Well my OL concern is greatly tied to being healthy at that spot. Bell, Hang, injury to Kalil, rookie, Gross......would be disastrous for this offense.

My health concerns would be Cam first, OL 2nd, Steve 3rd....injuries on those fronts would be tough IMO.

Injuries to key people are always tough. But I think that we have good depth on the O line this year and could weather one or two guys not playing well. Of all the guys I would be most concerned about Kalil followed by Gross. I think we can weather anything else.

As for Smitty or Cam, any team who loses their franchise quarterback and star receiver would be significantly hurt no matter who they are.

I am moderately concerned about RT because of Otah's inability to stay on the field and while Bell did okay for an undrafted rookie, he was still the weakest link on the offensive line by a mile. Hopefully he'll improve this year. Gross however played very well last year and other than him being a year older I see no reason for concern there. Also Hangman is no all-pro but he's not much of a liability either.

1. #2 Receiver. Can Lafell continue to improve? Can Gettis return from his injury? Will Adams add anything?

2. Winning in the division. Can we slow down Brees and that offense? If needed, can Munnerlyn contain Julio Jones and/or Mike Williams?

3. Coaching. Will Rivera mature as a coach and elminate the mix-ups from last year.
