1. Cam Newton's continued growth

- Reduction in INT's, reduction in sacks, reduction in goal-line rushing TD's (via Tolbert), maturation as a leader. The kid's the best rookie QB ever, now I hope he becomes the best second-season QB ever.

2. The development of our rookie and second season players

- The future of the team is best reflected by how the young ones are contributing. Without getting into a player by player breakdown, I hope that the young talent was correctly identified and properly drafted.

3. Ron Rivera becoming an elite coach

- I am in this for the long haul. I was there in Clemson on August 12, 1995 against Denver. I want this team to become a perennial playoff team. I want the Panthers to win multiple Super Bowls. It almost always takes an elite QB and an elite HC. Chico shows the signs, says the right things and him becoming one of the best in the NFL is 3rd biggest concern.

I apologize for my poorly-worded post but, I guess my long-term strategy and immediate tactics are one in the same. I want sustained continued growth with the top always being the goal.

1. Defense-this can really have it's own sub categories like "defensive tackle progression" or "#2 corner" but the fact is the whole defense has to improve or we won't be anywhere close to the playoffs
