Block off the crate so she just has room to stand up & turn around. She won't poo in her bed. EVERYTIME you take her out of the crate take her straight outside to potty. That's how they learn.

Definitely. It is very easy to train almost any puppy. It just takes a lot of time & dedication. Puppies don't think like a human, you have to understand they pick up pn things differrntly.

Example:

Puppy chews up a shoe. You call the puppy to you & then pop her. She doesn't understand she was popped for chewing the shoe, because she thinks differently. Now the puppy thinks that anytime you call her to you she's going to get hit.

With repetition & praise a puppy will quickly learn where to potty. I had my parents doberman crate trained at 9 weeks. By 13 weeks she would go to the door & bark when she needed out. Dogs are very smart, you just have to dedicate a lot of time to properly raising them.

We have several bells that hang from the front door knob for our small dog. We taught her to go to the front door...stand on her back legs...and hit the bells with her front paws when she needs to go out. She will then sit for about 20 seconds waiting on us. If we don't come by then, she will do it again.

Makes it easier, because we can hear when she needs to go as well as see her at the front door.

that's exactly what our boxer does. except she's figured out that she can go out anytime she wants as long as she rings the bells, whether she's gotta use the bathroom or not

Tis why I prefer a dog to a woman. Train a dog once & he's yours forever. Eventually a woman will run off & do some stupid poo.

Crate is just too big.

Also set up a feeding ritual. Same type, amount, time, etc. Do not vary off this schedule.

Only a little bit of water before bed, and no food for a few hours before bed.

Pick her up and take her outside when you take her out, don't let her walk behind you until you are sure that she won't stop half way and drop deuce.

I don't let my dog go outside just to go, when I ask if he has to "go out", that means take a crap or piss. "Go for a walk" means going outside to play around.

Take them to the same place time and again to use the bathroom, never start in one part of the yard and move around. They need to know where they are supposed to "go".

Get a house with a fenced backyard and a dog door. You can rent a house almost as cheap as an apartment these days. Not to be a dick or anything but if I had to crate my dog then I would give him up to someone who would give him a better life.(Again thats just me, not judging).

Putting a dog in a crate isn't that big of a deal to the dog. They'll sleep most of the time anyway, just like they do when you're home. Actually a lot of dogs like their crates, it's a safe place for them. Never and I mean never use the crate as a punishment tool. Positives should be involved with the dog going into the crate, so they never look at it as a bad thing.
