The Thunder should've easily won the series. They have a much more talented team and a much deeper team. It's a huge failure on the part of their coaching staff and players and several should be out of a job after this embarrassing performance.

They continuously play isolation and seem to be a poor team when they're not scoring in transition. Not sure how they beat the Spurs. Too bad, the Spurs would've at least showed some character and fight in the series.

Durant isn't the player people thought he was. There's a reason LeBron is the MVP and Durant isn't.

At least this series will be over soon. Frankly I'm tired of watching Durant and Westbrook whine.

If the Miami Heat are able to close out the Thunder and win the championship, a big part of it would be the play of 33 year old forward/defensive specialist Shane Battier. He's averaging 10 points this Finals and shooting better than 50% from the field. His defensive presence has been a big key all playoffs. Battier would be only the 2nd Coach K-era Duke player to ever win an NBA title. Danny Ferry is the only K disciple to win one back in 03 with the Spurs. Jeff Mullins (former UNCC head coach) is the only other Dukie with an NBA ring back in 75 with the Warriors.

I've been a huge LeBron critic and I don't think he's anywhere near Kobe/Jordan but I have come around slightly on him. My reasoning for not being a nut hugger was it seemed LeBron didn't want to be great. He wanted people to call him great, praise him for being great, but when it came time to be great, it wasn't there. The Decision soured me, calling yourself King soured me, having "chosen one" tattooed on your back soured me, but only because with your immense talent comes immense responsibility to the world to live up to the potential.

People want to see greatness. People tune into sports to watch amazing athletes do amazing things. People watch sports to see intangibles show up and to see athletes greater than themselves rise up when called upon, rise up when situations that would cause normal men to crumble actually elevates their game.

This hasn't been LeBron in the past. The only reason to play sports is to win championships and if you grew up when everyone gets a trophy, you're probably a LeBron fan because winning doesn't mean anything.

This year seems different. I wasn't impressed in Cleveland when LeBron took shots in clutch moments because he had to, make or miss. I wasn't impressed last year when he disappeared in the clutch moments in the finals. I am impressed this year. Maybe it took some time for him to really take over the Heat but what I like is that he has the option to defer and he doesn't. Deferring doesn't mean just passing to teammates instead of shooting, it means taking the easy shot instead of getting to the hoop. His ability as a passer has probably contributed to his sharing ways in the past but that's not how you become immortal. Make or miss, LeBron needs to have that last shot, he has to WANT that last shot, he has to want to be great. You're finally seeing him WANT to be the man, really want it. He wants to put that dagger in OKC, he wants to win a championship.

Even if he doesn't, it's a big step for him and as long as he continues down that path, he'll be alright. Kobe misses a ton of shots, but he has the desire to take and make them. He'll never be afraid of failure because his desire to be great far outweighs that fear. LeBron is beginning to show that and it's a good thing for his career.

TheRealDeal while I think its great you're showing praise to LeBron, please don't insult him by comparing him to guys like Kobe & Jordan. He's not a guard, and he's his own man. Neither one of those guys resumes looked like his at age 27 either. Kobe didnt get his first Finals MVP til he was 30, Jordan never appeared in a Finals til he was 28.

I played high school & Div II b-ball. Actually set the state record for made 3s & 3pt % in high school. Not many 6' white guys with busted knees & no vertical make the pros.
