Quitting football to play "Call of Duty"?

Call of Duty sucks. But I used to play socom 2 for nearly 12 hours a day when I was a kid. I was getting over a breakup and lived at home with my dad again do I basically had nothing to do.

dont feel to bad man. Socom 2 came out the summer that my sister was born. Played over 600 hours in three months. At 12 years old i seroiusly felt that i could join the navy seals and destroy terrorists just because of the training i had given myself through that game

I doubt it, those comments are well known in the gaming community. . . . very well known. To say otherwise is just ignorant.

Besides, anyone who plays video games with a gamepad is laughably out of touch with competitive gaming. There is a good reason why consoles gamers and pc gamers dont play eachother. Its because they tried it once, . . and pc gamers wiped the floor clean with console gamers. . mainly because of them trying to compete while aiming with their thumbs as opposed to aiming with your forearm and wrist like a pc gamer does.

(While CoD can be played on the PC, bet that that Top Dawg dude doesnt play on one)

Kids are always quick something like "hate" and "u mad".

I am a Sony guy, and a DS3 guy. I guess that the whole premise behind Elite must be out of touch with competitive gaming. The only real advantage that a PC has over the consoles is graphics. Playing games with a mouse, keyboard, and/or joystick is just so 1980ish. Get with the times, bro. Anyway, your hate is showing. You laud the pc and downplay the consoles. Within the world of gaming there are all sorts of things to debate over, and it's pretty silly. You prefer mashed potatoes, someone else prefers fries, while someone else prefers wedges, and yet someone else prefers potato chips. It's all good, and it's all a legitimate way to get fat.

Call of duty is fun, but it's like madden. When you pick one of em up ull prolly sink a ton of time into it. Thing is a new one comes out every year and its appeal starts to wear off. The campaign modes are pretty crappy but it's a uber popular online shooter due to it's crisp controls and fast pace.

I put a lot of time into Modern Warfare 1 and 2 but can't seem to get back into the game with the newer installments. I don't think its the game quality, just the fact that i wore out the appeal of the general gameplay.

If you have an actual life I recommend staying away from it. It's initial addiction is similar to most MMORPGs and it will really mess with ur daily schedule. It doesn't have much substance either, its purely reliant on its gameplay mechanics (which are great) but if you like adventure type games - atmospheric, things to explore and uncover, a plot to keep you progressing, dynamic gameplay (maybe some puzzles, driving stages, mini games etc) - then you probably won't like CoD.

Uhh thats why tournaments for Starcraft 2 and League of Legends have millions of dollars in prize pools along with elaborate arenas, professional shoutcasters and extravagant shows and entertainment before matches? PC gaming in general is considered far superior to console gaming in terms of competitive play (with the exception of fighting games, but even so pretty much all those guys use an arcade stick rather than a gamepad). If you dig console gaming thats totally fine, MOST people prefer it over PC gaming. PCs are expensive and can be complicated to work with. Please don't make ill informed comments about how using keyboard/mouse/joystick is behind the times, the reason these devices are still the most preferred is reliability and control. In fact most "pro" console gamers mod their pads, often times using stick extenders to give them similar control that a joystick would.

The only games that have a legitimate competitive scene in console gaming are Capcom 2d fighters (street fighter, MvC, SFxT), smash brothers (outdated), Halo and CoD. Even in the world of shooters Quake 3 Arena and Counterstrike still have larger and more legitimate communities than the more modern console counterparts.

what were you saying about 1980's?

I got myself one of these with the MvC2 artwork on it. Without a doubt the best game related purchase i ever made. The stick and buttons are just... so damn good, the box is gorgeous and all the neat little features that come with it are just so handy.
