Ah well. Valiant performance from the worst English side for 20 years. Italy couldn't break us down in 120 minutes of football, got to be proud of that.

Obviously we bottled it in the penalty shootout again, but that's as English as crumpets and afternoon tea.

I was calling for Young to be subbed around the 60th min. He could not dribble or keep the ball alive to save his life. If Eng could learn how to pass better they are a Top 5 team. But Italy was the better side to get thru.

Although England deserved to lose, the never play together on the international stage. Those men need to learn how to complete a pass. The looked like Jimmy Clausen out there.

England played so well after De Rossi crashed it off the post. They should have applied pressure. England's passing was so poor because the Italian pressured. Meanwhile the English retreat and retreat and make it an easy game for Italy. With all that said England had their chances and they embarrassed themselves.

England beat themselves. Piss poor passing. No attack at all. Italy didn't do anything special.

What talent? I won't go through a breakdown of the team, because I'm sure nobody cares, but this is the least talented England side I've ever seen. That's down to injuries, age and a lack of good young players coming through.

Hodgson set out the team the correct way. If we had tried to play football with the Italians we would have lost. Same with the French.

I can only give so much credit to Italy's D when Eng time after time would lose the ball on the dribble or miss a first touch only to see the ball go the other way. They just don't know how to take care of the ball.
