Pats releasing Chad Ochocinco

I've always liked Ocho and I still believe that he can ball, but we currently have 14 WR's on the roster. Our #1 is set and as far as I'm concerned, LaFell is our #2. Of course we're all expecting Gettis to explode, have high hopes for Adams and haven't forgotten about Pilares potential. I'm not sure where/if Ocho would fit in! Buttt, I wouldn't be mad either way.

I think if we are going to add a veteran wr he needs to serve some type of purpose.I could see Plexico helping on 3rd downs and in red zone but Ocho really doesnt bring anything to the table that we have in LaFell.

I'd rather we didn't involve ourselves with him for more than, well, peanuts. Not because of his personality or antics because I agree that they're mostly harmless...more because he hasn't really jumped out at me the last few years as someone I'd be busting down the door to sign.

I personally don't think he'd be bad, as long as he performed well with us. However, there are some teams out there that are thirsty for recievers who will offer alot more for him than we ever would. I see him playing in florida or st. louis. maybe seattle. Very small chance he ends up back in his old division. pitt or baltimore. but someone will really want him. hey who knows...., could be a raider.

You guys need to stop with the if-he-can't-fit in-Pats-system-no-want-or-he-dumb comments. The Pats require more of their receivers than any other team in the NFL, so 85 wouldn't be the only WR who can't fit into their system, plus he was behind the curve all over again because of Josh McDaniels' return. Know your football, gentlemen.

Moreover, the Panthers FO (along with others) are not interested according to Jason La Canfora, so now we can basically end the thread as far as that's concerned.
