I don't understand why there's all the hate. It's not like we would pay him NE or Cincy money... He knows what he's worth nowadays- team's didn't even trade for him. We give him a small contract with lots of incentives. If he plays well, and teaches Gettis and Lafell a few things, awesome. If not, we wasted a little money. It would be nice to give Smitty some more plays off once in a while so he can have an extra year or 2 as a Panther.

Except Owens isn't washed up. As Dawkins and many have said, work ethic has never been a problem with Owens. Nobody works harder than him and he is probably as fit as some 20 year old receivers. It is his character that is the issue and why no team is going to take a chance on him.

Heck, he put up 983 yards and 9 touchdowns in 14 games with a washed up Palmer at 37 years old. Dude is a beast athletically.
