Anyone else besides Smitty get 1000 Yards Receiving This year?

Love all our players but I have yet to see a 1000 yard season from Lafell. He can catch and is good at the goal line, but let's not kid ourselves with Gettis healthy he may be lucky to get many looks.

Based on Chud's (and Norv) systems....if Smitty stays healthy Olsen is the guy with the best shot.

I think Smitty can get around another 1300 or so.

I think LaFell and Gettis will combine for around 1400.

The RB-FB trio will combine for around 800.

Olsen and Barnidge will combine for around 800.

That puts Cam at like 4300 for the year, 270/game average, which I think is reasonable.

That averages out to around:

80 yards/game for Smitty

85 yards/ game divided between LaFell and Gettis

50 receiving yards/game for the RB's

50 yards/game for the TE's

I really think that with everyone having a year under this system, our offense will just go with whatever that days defense gives us. So there will be a strong ebb and flow throughout the season of Cam having a big yardage game against one opponent, and then Triple Trouble having a big game on the ground the next.

Should be a lot of fun to watch.

I'm a lot more interested in who our go-to red zone target will be. LaFell, Gettis and Olsen all are guys that have the right physical characteristics, but all have something to prove in that regard.

I sincerely doubt anyone else will have 1k yards. Olsen might. But I honestly believe the ball will be spread around way too much for anyone else other than smith to get that many hards.

I would be looking at who will get the attempts and not so much just the player. LaFell is in position for a break out year and I dont think he will be letting Gettis by him on the depth chart this year. He blocks better, catches better, and as of now he has a year of experience in the system over him. They will both get their touches but i think LaFell will get more this year at least.

I dont see a single TE drawing enough attempts in this system to put 1000 but I think Olsen is capable if they were to design it that way.

I'll take Gettis next year if he stays healthy this year. For now. . . Dat Deal

To date, LaFell has shown to be a more well rounded WR. Gettis is kinda a deep ball threat at the moment. LaFell was more impressive as a rookie using his body and other routes. He was targeted more as a rookie....so with LaFell also having more experience I don't see Gettis getting more reps. Gettis may have more big plays.

Smitty will be the only one, but even he won't get it by much IMO. Our offense can't sneak up on anyone this year and teams are going to make a #2 WR beat us.

If anyone besides Smitty is going to get 1K it will probably be Olsen. The TE is an intergal part of this O. I do agree that the RBs total will be higher than last year as a whole, and individually. They could be over 1K as a group.

Like has been said. No matter how this works out, it is gonna be a world of fun to watch.
