Tolbert came here partly because he likes the South better than California

I love our tradtions as much as the next person but does he know the South, especially NC and SC =hot azz, humid, miserable summers...just sayin

it's not necessarily that which is to me off-putting about the south but the simple fact that many of the people there still can't get over the fact that they lost a war that happened 150 years ago and that's where their underlying seething hatred of the north stems from.

My hate is sports related hate. Plus the aforementioned sweet tea and boiled peanut rub.

i don't understand how anyone can prefer the south to california.

spent 21 years between georgia and florida and all i really miss is waffle house, cracker barrel, and chik-fil-a.

weather is better, people are nicer, more poo to do, etc. only downside is cost of living is ridiculous.

...and the epic beaches full of epic women.

I've lived both north and south and traveled in nearly every state, so I don't have a dog in this fight. The one thing I could never get past in California is how damn cold the Pacific is. It is hard to enjoy going to the beach if you need a wetsuit to go in the water.

As a Southerner I must admit that the whole Southern Hospitality thing is a crock of shiit. We love to hide in our homes and yell at people who walk in our yard and make judgments of anyone who isn't from the same place as us,

I wouldn't want to live in California, at least not in or near any of the large cities. Overcrowded, to much noise, and horrible traffic. I did live in Hawaii for three years, and it wasn't bad, especially the weather. But the traffic in Honolulu was still worse than I like.

As far as the people, there are good people and bad wherever you go.
