Why we should NOT draft Drummond

Recommended Posts

The point is at 18 you wouldn't have wanted Bynum either. The only reason you have seen improvement in Bynum is he 24. You didn't see the improvement at 18. Maybe at 24 you can see the same improvement in Drummond.

Also he can develop his back to the basket game. But what makes him better then Bynum was at 18 is he has a face up game, he can run the floor, and he's more athletic then Bynum was and is now.

Bynum actually showed tremendous improvement in his first few seasons. He was more or less useless in his rookie season (when he was 17), but by his 3rd season he was a legit starting NBA center.

Bynum's success is irrelevant to Drummond though. Just because one project center turned out well doesnt mean all of them will. Hell, Bynum was the 3rd center off the board his draft class, how did Channing Frye turn out?

You cant draft players based on who you want them to be, you draft them based on what you think they will do. I dont think Drummond will do poo. Though what do I know, I'm not a gm and I've never met the guy personally. If the front office interviews the guy and thinks he will put in the effort to reach his potential, then just say fug it and draft the guy
