Says when? Says who?

Well it is a what have you done for me lately business......you see tons of legit superstars one year turn into nobodies and role players overnight (for a variety of reasons)

People are so dumb.

Beason is the heart and soul of our team.

Kuechly seems like he could be a great player but he does not carry that leadership like Beason.

Beason, the dude is loud and energize all the times.

If anyone can come back from an injury, it's Beason. I guess they haven't seen Beason's video clip of him yet. He went pretty hard to where I was scare for him tearing something. When Beason comes back, he will be the MLB. A mike backer like Beason doesn't fall off the trees every year. If somehow Kuechly is even better than 52, then that's our luck and good for us. But no way will Kuechly beat out and start at MIKE this year if Beason does come back healthy.

And it's stupidity to even say we'll cut Beason if he doesn't fully recover. If anything he'll take less money. I'm sure we'll do anything to keep him if we had done this much for TD, a player with three ACL tears.

People on this site talk about Beason and Davis like they are the two best linebackers that ever played the game. In the NFL it is all about what have you done for me lately. Hopefully Beason comes back 100% but you cant put someone out on the field in a wheelchair just because they are a good leader.

Shut up

Teams change and evolve.

Newton is going to be the heart and soul of this team from here on out...

Yeah, bc claiming Beason at 80% doesn't make him better than 99% of LBs in the NFL is saying he is wheelchair bound.....

Who is claiming that? Not me. I was just pointing out the dumb statements by you and others. Just face the fact that no one gives a poo about what % he is at no matter how many times you make that figure up. Dumb statements on both sides to try to make each other look stupid when both party's do.

Well, read this thread.....and the dumb statements like the one I was referring to about a less than 100% Beason.

And plenty of people give a poo what level Beason can play at this year....starting with the coaching staff who has Luke learning the MLB position.

Beason is the leader on the defense. Who gets the defense going.

Cam can be the leader of the team, but no way can he be the leader on the defense also.

A great championship team has two leaders. One on offense and the other on defense.

You don't have to be the MLB to be a leader. If you move positions it doesn't mean you no longer are a leader.

An 80% Beason isn't going to keep the MLB if Luke is for real. Wait until football starts....Luke's instincts are going to blow some away who haven't watched him

I guess what I meant was more along the lines of, Beason is the leader of the defense. Whether he plays left middle whatever, he is the leader. He wont be replaced in that capacity unless he is traded and that would mean a castastrophe has happened because that would kill morale on the defense.

Luke would have to be a better leader than Beason and I just dont think thats possible. . . not while Beason is on the roster, he has all the ownership. He is our Ray Lewis, thats the only way I can put it.

and I admit 80% was an exaggeration. This is the pro's, any disadvantage you have will be exploited. Just having fun with the point.

Wasn't talking about 2nd year players...

Was talking about legit superstars who put in years of elite play and are in there prime....and fall off the map suddenly. Age, injuries, tons of reasons. It is a what have you down for me lately league bc of how drastically things change for a player.

Beason is not guaranteed to be Beason going forward just bc he has heart and is a leader. Players come and go.

. Players come and go.

Leaders do not come and go quietly. I would say the odds of this "replacing" idea is very slim based on that alone. The Beast will get every shot in the world to make himself right. . . and more than likely he is going to succeed.

Again, you don't lose your leadership qualities bc you are moved...there is no rule that Beason can only lead as the MLB and moving him strips him of leadership.

And leaders do come and go....we had had tons of different leaders over the last decade. We have lost one each of the last two seasons
