Way-Too-Early 2009 Standings Predictions

Besides Turned taking advantage of all the carries he got, I can't point to one thing they really did well. Their defense was just okay, and their passing game was good but it was really hidden behind Turner.

1.How are the Jet's a force? A team being lead by an unproven QB is never a lock. The redskins d-line is only average if Haynesworth and Orakpo don't quite live up to the hype. Two SUPERIOR tackles?? Stacy Andrews is not even close to superior! You're the moron, that's like saying Gosder Cherilus should have been rookie of the year. Dawkins was all heart and the LEADER, that counts for a lot, but I can't expect you to understand that. And two of the best playmakers? Maclin, okay but who else....McCoy wasn't a top playmaker.

2.One bad playoff game doesn't effect our REGULAR SEASON record next year. Understand, there IS a difference between regular season and postseason.

3.Players slip, Matt Forte was taken 44th in last year's draft. How'd he do?

4.I am right.

1. The Jets have a very good defense and a very good running game. Plenty of teams have made the playoffs with rookie QBs. Just look at Baltimore and Atlanta last year. Mark my words! They will be a force next year. The redskins had the 4th best defense in the league last year. Having Haynesworth and Arakpo makes them even better! What killed them last year was the injuries to Portis and the offensive line. If they stay healthy they will be a playoff team. Sorry, but the Eagles losing Dawkins doesnt make them a worse team all of a sudden. He was a good leader but his skills were diminishing. You are exagerating that loss because you are scared. Stacey Andrews is a great tackle who was injured last year and Jason Peters is one of the top LT's in the league. Maclin was probably the 2nd best receiver in the draft and Mccoy could have easily been a 1st round pick.

2. Understand that Jake only threw for 15 Tds to 12 Ints prior to the playoffs and played inconsistently the whole season. The only reasons we made the playoffs was because of our weak schedule and because our running game bailed jake out. We won in spite of Jake. Not because of him!

3. matt Forte was already a projected 2nd-3rd rounder in that draft at the time. Everrette Brown may turn out to be pretty good. Either way one undersized rookie DE who has never taken a snap in the NFL doesnt suddenly make your whole team better.

4. I hope you are. But most likely you are not. Sorry!:frown5:

owned. Funny how Panthers fans forget about the hype their team had gotten for years while amounting to nothing. While people can laugh all they want about the defense, it's not the same as it was the past two years and it should be considerably better.

Unfortunately, I have to agree. The saints will be a better team next year after underachieving the last couple of years assuming they dont get ravaged with injuries again.

"for years"? not exactly, maybe two years

"amounting to nothing"? we made some NFCCGs and won the division a couple times.

Historically speaking, the NFC South has been one of the most unpredictable divisions. Neither the Falcons nor the Panthers were thought to be division champ material last year, and both finished at the top. Any one of the four teams could win it, although my pick is the Falcons. But I don't think any of the NFC South teams finish above 10-6.

Atlanta (if defense gets better)

Saints (if defense gets better)

Carolina (passing game and defense are still suspect)

Tampa (but in this topsy turvy division they could win it all).
