Martin does in fact tackle better then Godfrey, and does play better coverage.

I'd be thrilled to just have at least one average starting NFL safety. Godfrey nor Martin have been that so far.

Martin does in fact tackle better then Godfrey, and does play better coverage.

I'm not really a huge fan of either one, but I remember Godfrey coming in and snagging int's. He, for a short period made a strong contribution. I don't recall Martin ever making such a contribution. In addition, we just gave Godfrey like a 5 yr extension and brought in competition for Martin. I would assume that Rivera isn't happy with Martin's play either.

You don't ever recall Martin making a contribution? The best window of S play we have seen in recent years was when Martin played as a rookie....he was snagging balls as a result of good coverage that year.

Majority of Godfrey's picks have been off errant throws and tips that have fallen into his lap. He looks good with the ball in his hand though....

Martin is also credited with more turnovers if you comparethr number to reps on the field

No I don't, I do know that I've seen Martin whiff on a few tackles that turned into TD's. We'll see where this all goes and how our starting lineup shakes out. I'm confident that Rivera will start whoever best fits the scheme.

Godfrey whiffs on more missed tackles...

Martin had more memorable fug ups...I'll give you that in 2011.

But like I said, you can't judge a player good or bad purely off one year. Martin was only poo in 2011....solid moments the other years

Well hopefully we'll have better Safety play this year, as I said earlier, I'm not really a fan of either one of them.
