I'm the one that brought up the Hibbert idea and I will show you why in just a second in my dream off-season for the Charlotte Bobcats. I will take you guys through a step by step process of how the Bobcats could go from bottom of the basement to a 5th seed in the NBA Playoffs in one year.

First: Hire Jerry Sloan as the head coach of the Charlotte Bobcats

Second: Draft small forward: Michael Kidd-Gilchrist in the first and shooting guard: John Jenkins in the second.

Third: Use the amnesty clause on Corey Maggette leaving the Bobcats with 26 million dollars in cap room.

Fourth: Re-sign D.J. Augustin, and Derrick Brown

Break Time: Bobcats Roster as of right now

PG: D.J. Augustin, Kemba Walker

SG: Gerald Henderson, John Jenkins, Matt Carroll

SF: Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Reggie Williams, Derrick Brown

PF: Bismack Biyombo, Tyrus Thomas

C: Byron Mullens, DeSagana Diop

Fifth: With 26 million dollars in cap room, the Bobcats use $14 Million of it to sign Roy Hibbert.

Sixth: Sign Nate Robinson to a veteran contract.

Seventh: Use the remainder of the money to sign Antawn Jamison as he has stated that he wants to come back and play in NC.

Final Roster:

PG: D.J. Augustin, Kemba Walker, Nate Robinson

SG: Gerald Henderson, John Jenkins, Matt Carroll

SF: Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Reggie Williams, Derrick Brown

PF: Antawn Jamison, Bismack Biyombo, Tyrus Thomas

C: Roy Hibbert, Byron Mullens, DeSagana Diop

Here's my dream offseason:

Draft

No.2: Michael Kidd Gilchrist SF

No.31: Darius Miller SF (can play SG; wants John Jenkins but he may be gone in the first)

Free Agent

J.J. Hickson PF: Great young upcoming forward in the NBA. Played great last season for the Blazers. He's a RFA but may be one of the few free agents who we could possibly be able to attract to come play here in Charlotte, bc he was a NSU kid. Also he probably wouldn't mind playing for a small city market due to the fact that he's kinda been a journey man in his short career.

PG: Kemba

SG: Henderson/Miller

SF: Kidd-Gilchrist

PF: J.J. Hickson

C : Mullens/Biyombo

that is a dream offseason. i like it, but can someone please tell me why Hibbert would choose Charlotte?

Only way for Hibbert to come here is if we give him 23 of that 26 mil in cap, IMO.

He doesn't have to choose, he is an rfa. We just have to throw enough money his that Indiana can't/won't match.

Who have more cap space, us or Pacers?

I thought I saw somewhere, where Pacers had more cap than us.

If that's correct, we wont be able to compete with Indiana.

If I'm not mistaken, Indiana has the largest cap space available.

How'd we going to compete with Indiana?

Indiana has $14 million dollars in cap space, that is where I got the $14 million dollar contract for Hibbert.

If the Bobcats use the amnesty clause on Maggette, they will have $26 million dollars in cap space (The most in the NBA).

I really would like to get Bismack out of the center spot this season and put him at his natural PF spot.

And I really hope Mullens isn't starting. I like him coming off the bench but starting not really.

I really hope they find away to get atleast 2 of these guys off the roster

Tyrus,Diop,Carroll and Maggette.

They have to get 1 but I hope it's 2 or 3 of these guys off the roster.

Edit: I lied, the Pacers actually have $21 million dollars in cap space. However, if the Cats amnesty Maggette; they could still sign Hibbert.

Lol .

I'm sure Indiana is willing to match 16 mil if to say that's how much well throw at him. They may even be willing to throw 16-18 at him. Hibbert may even take less to stay with a more competitive team in Indiana than come here. That's just my opinion.

I do too but with no real big man on the team.

And only center worth going for in FA is Hibbert which I can promise wont be a Bobcats next season. I don't know why people thinks that it's so easy to go after Hibbert by throwing a bunch of money at him. Players actually wants to win also. Bobcats is not the team for a veteran player to come play for, especially when we're in full rebuilding mode right now.

Kidd-Gilchrist is my favorite player to be the pick at no.2, but as day passes by I'm starting to wonder if it's better to take the high risk reward Drummond. That would solve the C position and will be easier for us to sign a SG or SF in FA with our cap space, if MJ chooses to be competitive and not cheap.

    • This is a wild statement it’s to late to save his season with six games left? That mountain of bad film as a rookie with trash coaching a weak azz line and dismal WRs. Guys that can’t catch on with other teams or guys traded to teams that are subpar at best. We put Bryce in a terrible situation to start his career does that matter to you or you feel he should’ve, as a rookie elevate this dumpster fire. If you’re giving him a fair assessment judge him off the last four games a good o-line decent WRs still not comparable to any other young QB WR room Hou (tank/nico..) Tua (Hill/Waddle) Caleb (Moore/Rome/Allen) let’s see what he can do with a decent structure around him for the next few weeks then let’s revisit how we’re going to grade or assess his performances.
    • As a bit of counterpoint, if he wanted to continue his professional career then handling it like a mature adult was the only option. Dude had been playing like absolute ass and needed to own it. It's great that he did but it's not like he didn't have a large amount of self interest in doing so. Not picking on Bryce specifically here, as this applies to any player or even anyone struggling early in their career. And he still has a long way to go, but signs are positive.
    • I agree he could still develop, but I think that could still be developed in practice. Just after a scary injury like that, I'm nervous to see him get reps in a live game situation when the best possible outcome is nothing more than worsening our draft selection. That said, I'm 100% not a doctor, so if he's clear to play, he wants to play, and there's no potential of aggravating this injury (which by all accounts it doesn't seem that is the case for this type of injury) then go for it, I guess.   But you hit the nail on the head. This draft class is really impressive. I can't remember the last time I was so impressed with a rookie that I'd actually prefer shutting him down. His game is so apparent that he doesn't need to prove anything at this point. Can't remember the last time that happened!
