Kendall Marshall

If that happened..the 'cats would probably move DJ (let him walk, RFA), and probably use Kemba as a 6th man. I don't think Marshal would provide much spark off the bench..he might be better served starting and getting other involved.

I think we won't be seeing DJ playing for us next season. Either that's before the season start or before the trade line. This team was pretty much kemba's already the moment we drafted him. There were rumor of a possible trade if DJ last season so it just make sense. Even though he has improve every year and is probably our best shooter, he's an average PG; not even able to say he' mediocre also.

I'll take my crazed idea a step farther.

Heres the update. Trade #2 and take Marshall and Sullinger. Then with next years top 5 take an elite wing player. Marshall and Sullinger with Biyambo and Walker may seem redundant at first glance, but that is a solid foundation to build on considering you'd likely have a top 5 pick in the 2013 draft as well. If we handle free agency well we could be a piece or two away at that point.

the trouble with keeping kemba as part of the fold is that he's not particularly good. sub .400 shooting percentage and a lot of turnovers. When I would be checking the box scores every night, for a minute, I could have sworn Adam Morrison was resigned and started playing as a PG.

Give him a break he had no offseason and if you look at DJ and Felton #s their rookie season Kemba's #s are better then both of them.

look at Felton and DJ rookie and 2nd year numbers neither one is better then Kemba's rookie numbers.

No to drafting Kendall. I'm a UNC fan, but we have enough guards on this team. Besides, if we go guard, it needs to be Beal. With the #2, we need to go MKG or Drummond.

I don't know if we really "have" anything.. Only thing I have as a fan is hope for Kemba and Biyambo. I'm more skeptical of Mullens, but it seems he is going to get a shot. We've got to get Henderson out of the starting line up eventually, but I don't mind him on the team. I think he could be a good energy guy. But going into a draft with this team.. I'm looking at every single possible option.

One thing I know about Marshall is that he can run a basketball team about as well as anyone. What he lacks in athleticism, he over compensates for in skill, IQ, and swag. He will more than likely gain immediate respect from whichever NBA team he joins, for his natural basketball instincts, and endearing persona and attitude. He has good up bringing, and will say and do the right things. And though this is probably the worst reason to draft him, he already has an established fan base in the region. He could help you sell some buy one season get next season free tickets.

Kemba is definitely a player that will only get better as he progresses. DJ has pretty much peaked as a Bobcat (possibly as a player) if this team were to move any guard on this team it would be DJ.

He only works on a team with establish scores. We are not that team.

That is bullpoo. Kendall Marshall creates established scorers. His basketball IQ is the highest I have seen since Jason Kidd. My only worry is how good of a defender he will be in the NBA and whether or not he can score consistently.

He reminds me of almost a carbon copy of Mark Jackson.

No the f he doesn't. I would love to have seen him on a team without Barnes, Zellers, and Henson. I hope he gets drafted to a bad team so we can see how good he really is when he doesn't have players that dominate at their position.

Go back and watch tape of UNC when Larry Drew was PG with the same group of guys and tell me how much those guys "dominated" their positions then.

They didn't dominate their positions, Marshall dominated his and they all prospered for it.

I don't care Larry Drew sucks anyway. The problem is he won't be playing against Larry Drew on a night to night basis.

He is a great passer but he has to have player to pass to.

I can see him looking great on the Heat, Knicks, Dallas, Lakers, Clippers, 76ers maybe even the Memphis. But if he goes to the Bobcats, Houston, Hornests, Kings, and Toronto he will be a wasted pick.

    • Where did I once say we should draft him because he's a projected Top 5 pick?   That's one of my many problems with you, your reading comprehension skills are very poor (and/or you just don't care to use your brain, one of the two).  I solely used that to point out that me pushing T-Mac isn't some absurd homerism, that at least I'm pushing someone who is deserving of a Top 5 draft pick. And despite me explaining it to you numerous times, you still seem to not grasp how QB's get placed in mock drafts vs draft grades.  They are treated entirely different in mock drafts to any other position, because of how teams generally treat them in the draft because of how important the position is. Literally any other position except QB, mock drafts generally follow draft grades with some team needs factored in.  But with QB's, draft grades are generally disregarded and they ALWAYS put a few QB's at the very top of the draft, because that's just usually what happens.  The exact same thing happened in 2022 with guys like Pickett and Willis widely being Top 10 picks in mock drafts, only for Pickett to fall to what, around 20?, and Willis going in the 2nd round (and even being the 3rd QB if I remember correctly too). The overwhelming majority of draft experts are saying there isn't a high first round grade on these QB's, but they still get mocked there because they're trying to predict how the draft will actually go. That's been my point the entire time, reaching for a QB in a bad QB draft when you have a roster as depleted of talent as ours, does not tend to work out well. And I've never said I'm not open to other players, I've very explicitly said that if a QB or DE stands out come draft time, I'm open to that discussion.  That I'd be open to Hunter as a CB but I prefer a WR over a CB at the top of the draft.  But we're also not talking about the 15th pick here where there could realistically be all sorts of possible picks to discuss.  With the first pick, there really would only be a small handful of options, T-Mac is head and shoulders above any other given our current roster and state of the franchise in general.
    • TMac is good, but he isn't pick 1 on a WR good.  Last year he would be below Nabers and Williams.  This year you could argue Hunter is the better WR.  WR at 1 better be a Calvin Johnson not a WR that disappears some games in college...
    • So because he's a projected top 5 pick he's should be the guy we draft.   Yet you say the other 2 QBs who are projected top 5 picks are not worth it because you think they aren't that good.   That's my problem with you. You just seem to only care about Tmac. I have yet to see you suggest anyone outside of Tmac. At least I'm open to other prospects.
