Just curious. Have some balls & tell the truth. Cam Bandwagoner, Panthers fan, or Cam fan turned Panthers fan?

doesn't matter.

they are here.

they want the panthers to win.

they are one of us now.

get used to it or get over it.

doesn't matter why they are here. the important thing is that we all are.

Rayz, I understand the Kumbaya-politically correct attitude, but you don't think it makes a difference whether someone is rooting for the Panthers or just Cam? What this inevitably means is that if and when Cam goes, they go. I don't think there is necessarily a right or wrong answer. I am just asking.

I wish people would stop being whinning little twats, and just be grateful our fan base is expanding. In case you haven't been to games in the past couple of years we need all the fans we can get. Also who gives a flying f@&k why people join the huddle it's a Internet message board, get over yourself and your supreme "fandom".

I haven't heard anyone whining about this issue. Furthermore I am sure there are some people who do give a fug, and supreme "fandom" is an interesting term.

honestly i don't care.

not sure why it matters.

if they leave...fine. if they stay...fine.

not a politically correct statement. at least that's not what i'm trying to be. i could care less about that. i'm not trying to be diplomatic.

i'm just pragmatic. i'm happy for anyone that is pulling for the panthers. i'm glad to have them around. i honestly can't see why anyone would want less fans.

i'm not going to put parameters on what it means to be a panthers fan or throw out some litmus test. i just don't think it matters. why look for defining lines? i just don't see how it benefits anyone or the fanbase or why anyone would care about motivations someone might have for pulling for my favorite team.

it just seems silly to me...the idea that there are factions or whatever among the panther fan ranks.

the more cam and the team improves, the more fans this team is going to have.

if this team gets back to the superbowl and actually wins it...you better believe there will be a lot of "bandwagon fans" coming aboard. are you (not specifically you top dawg) going to check their boarding passes or quiz them on their panther knowledge before you let them board?

everyone has to start somewhere. if people are pissed about them not knowing or being a part of this "rich" history of the carolina panthers or whatever then educate them or at least have a little patience with them while they learn.

seriously....i just don't see a point in labeling fans beyond being a panthers fan.

To be honest with you, I am a fan of greatness! I seek it out! Didn't know much about came when he appeared at Auburn, to be honest I am more of a Alabama fan because of their consistently great defenses. But watching Auburn games, it was easy to see that this kid was destined for greatness, despite Auburn's questionable defense. Watching Cam in college was the veritable man among boys. He made people look stupid, uncoordinated, lazy. He had defensive coordinators pulling out their hair on the sideline.

He has gone on to do the same in the pros. Had he not come to Carolina, I probably would not be a Panther fan. Just being honest.

In this years draft the player with "the magic" is Robert Griffin. I don't believe that I will become a redskins fan. Something I just don't like about their owner.

Well, Cam is but one cog in the machine---perhaps the linchpin, no doubt, but a part of the growing greatness that is coming to Carolina. Yes, it may be kind of homerish, overly optimistic, etc., but I believe that Rivera is a developer of men and masterpieces, so I suspect you will be a Panthers fan for years to come if greatness is your magnet.

For the record, I am not a member of any Auburn or Alabama message boards.

On a side note. I believe Vick made Cam possible, and Cam made Griffin Possible.

I will probably be seen sporting a Carolina Jersey this year and for many years to come. It may have Cams number, but I will probably put my Company name on the back.

I had a Vick jersey but gave it away after the dog fighting incident.

Although Cam had some questionable character issues, I felt he turned things around at Auburn, outside of the Pay for play thing. I figured that was more Auburn's fault due to past reputation.

Griffin seems like the perfect kid. Graduated early with good grades. Already engaged. Kid has track star speed, and accuracy as high as Cam's in College.

Both seem destined to make Michael Vick step his game up (accuracy) or be forgotten in 2-3 years.

The OP question is offensive to real Panther fans (of which I am).

:P

But for the obligatory background, born and raised in Charlotte, grew up liking the Miami Dolphins, and picked up the Panthers the moment the franchise was announced in the fall of 1993. Have never looked back once. Cam is the ultimate prize for the true Panther fans who have supported the likes of Randy Fasani and David Carr over the years.
