Wow...I just can't understand how these guys can't take the simple step to avoid something so stupid. I realize that people screw up, and nobody is perfect, but this type thing just doesn't make sense. On top of that there are no real consequences for the NFL athlete. Teams rarely do or say anything about it and the fines/SR-22 insurance aren't anything that cause any sort of discomfort for the offending player. The penalties involved with a DUI are back-breaking to an average citizen and in many cases can even result in being terminated from their job. The NFL player simply resorts to something that should have been done in the first place: hiring a driver when they go out for the evening. Having said that, this kid is on the road to ruin IMO. Or worse, he'll end up injuring or killing somebody.

Remember that they are still just average people. We all do stupid things like this. I bet you would be hard pressed to find anyone over 21 on this board who has not gotten behind the wheel after having a few too many. Lord knows I have done it.

Seriously people, I understand having too many and getting behind the wheel thinking you need your car in the am to go to work, but it just isn't worth it.

If you can't make sound decisions when drinking, you need to stop drinking.
