i do agree with this. i have never said that he was a premiere QB. he is bret favre lite, and i don't mean that as a compliment... he makes bold/head-scratching throws that will more often than not work out but a lot of that has to do with who he is throwing to.

he has a lot of problems and is far from perfect but not the worst in the league (not that just being better than the worst is something that we should ever strive for).

i think a lot of his problems are things that could be coached out and it sounds like we have the right QB coach to do it. will it be a success? i don't know but i'm really hoping that he does and i think he can.

as far as my resorting to stats...i know it only shows part of the story and i was only addressing part of the story. that part was that jake only targets smith. i was showing that the number of targets and stats didn't show that. he does spread it around and always has. has he done it wisely? not as much as he should. that is what i am hoping changes this offseason.

I guess what I mean by spread is getting the ball to our number 3 WR and TEs more..i think Dante and barnidge can be a nice receiving threat..
