Gerald Cadogan, OT Penn State 6-5, 310

Very smart and very good, Cadogan doesn’t need a whole bunch of work, especially as a run blocker. Eventually, he should be a strong guard and could be a superstar if he moves inside. He’ll be tried out at tackle early on, and he should be fine on the left side with the ability to hold his own by doing everything correctly. However, as big as he is and as good as he was in college, there’s a hard ceiling on what he can do as a tackle. Lacking great athleticism, he can be penciled

Many of us assumed that Duke Robinson would be the heir to Vincent at starting guard in 2010 (or sooner) but perhaps Cadogan is in the plans instead. For those at mini camp, let me know if he is playing any guard (especially getting reps with the starters).

I believe the reason he went undrafted, was because he has little to no love for the game. He certainly does not treat it as seriously as other aspects in his life and due to this I can see him being here no more than a couple of years.

Obviously these reports could be over exaggerating and as you say, we may well have two VERY exciting prospects to keep tabs on if they both keep their heads in the game!

i think cadgan has said the panthers told him he will start out as the backup to jordan gross..i think this is best because if he moves to guard what about duke the knock on him was that he could not move to OT..

Not to worried about this, we could have our potential replacement for Vincent AND our back up to both guard spots. Then in a pinch Cadogan can likely be moved to OT if the situation needs it.

Through all this we still have Makenzie and 'The Dude'. How many OL do we have active for game days usually?
