No Anthony Davis For Charlotte, Now What?

what? davis was talked about as the #1 pick long before the start of the tournament.

"Talked about as being", not "wow this is beyond doubt a franchise player". That was my point. There were a group of four or five guys that had a claim to being the first overall pick halfway through the CBB season. At the end of the day, about 15 games decided where those guys were slotted. Who is to really say that one will undoubtedly be better than the others.

This draft is basically Lebron James at #1 and Darko-fuging-Milicic as #2

That's how much of a dropoff between the top player and the second in this draft. Whoever this team chooses at #2 will be solely potential based, which fuging blows.

Drummond fits the bill.

None of that is remotely true, unless you think Anthony Davis is comparable to Lebron as a prospect (he's not) and you think Drummond is getting drafted number 2 (oh god I hope not)

This draft is deep and Davis is not the 2nd coming of Jesus. Plenty of talented player to be had

That's a Charlotte Hornets hat. He got it from some friends that live in Charlotte and him and his family were very hopeful he would be able to play for MJ in Carolina.

This would be a perfect draft for us if this team were selecting at 9 or 15. The problem is we're not.

Outside of Davis there are NO franchise worthy players in this draft. Tons of talent and potential is not saving next season.

MY comparison very easily holds true here, NO will be getting there Lebron/Kobe/Durat/Duncan while we'll be getting our Milicic or second rate high potential pipe dream player.

Drummond very easily fits the bill of that second rate high potential high bust rate type player. This draft is stocked in potential, but MJ needed his seat filler, and he got butt fuged yesterday.

Thats silly, hell the draft you keep bringing up had Wade, Melo, and Bosh all go after Darko- and plenty of people thought Darko was the better prospect. Stop speaking in absolutes, you sound silly. There is a decent chance Anthony Davis is not the best player in this draft. And I'd bet money that he wont win rookie of the year

This draft has plenty of talent in the top 5 and there will absolutely be multiple all stars to come out of it. Anthony Davis was not turning around the Bobcats next season, stop being so melodramatic

I'm speaking in absolutes yet your entire whitewall of rehashed nonsense doesn't attack any of my main points. You're the only person who doesn't believe that Anthony Davis isn't the top player in this draft, due to your naivety or not that's absolute horse poo.

And I'm going to repeat myself yet again, Jordan is going to miss out on his Cam Newton and get stuck with a Marcell Dareus or worse this year. Which isn't entirely bad, but for this franchise it will definitely be felt.

And shame on you for comparing any persons in this draft outside of Anthony Davis to the other notable players of the 2003 draft. That's fuging stupid.

Rico, trying to speak logically and have a legit convo with Thatlookseasy is a waste of time. He's one of the dukefags I've been arguing with about college basketball the past two months. He's on the same side as grits if that tells you anything. The clown dismissing Davis just shows you how delusional and uninformed he is, but I guess that truly sums up the entire fan base.

Also according to this bozo, we may as well not even have the NCAA tourney next year and just give everything to duke.

Actually I do believe Anthony Davis is the best player in the draft, he has the potential to be an elite defender, but until he adds more strength I dont think he will be an all star or franchise player that you are looking for. The bobcats will probably be bottom 3 next year, Davis doesnt change that. Davis does not immediately make this team a contender, you still need other good players to build around.

I'm sorry I didnt attack any of your main points, because I didnt think you made any. You basically think Davis is basically a hall of famer and nobody else in the draft is even decent. That is bullshit, this draft has plenty of talent. MKG will be a very good player, and I think Beal and Robinson can also be good. Draft a good player and keep rebuilding, the bobcats are at least 3 good players away from building a good team.

I'm sorry you think none of the players in the draft compare to the 2003 guys, but those guys were unproven when they were drafted too. Its a crapshoot often, but if you think Davis will be the only great player to come out of this draft you are crazy- even in terrible draft years like last year there are good players to be found

Might want to check your memory on that one big guy, I'm currently a rising senior at UNC

    • I didn't say much bigger. Watch the highlights I linked. Bryce doesn't have the arm strength and/or talent to make the vast majority of the throws Mac made in that video.
    • Tetairoa McMillan.   The last 28 1st overall picks were either a QB, DE, or OT. Seeing as I don't think we'd take an OT in the 1st and give up on Ickey as an LT yet and there doesn't seem to be a clear overall #1 type of QB or DE pick this year, it very well could be a non conventional #1 overall this year, at least in regards from the last almost 3 decades of drafts. If we didn't have Horn, I'd be more open to Hunter as a CB at #1, but we have him so another CB wouldn't be how I'd use a #1 pick.  And as much as I love Legette, if we have SB contending aspirations, I don't think Legette is a #1 on a team like that, but he damn sure is an elite #2 on a team like that.  He's more of the Smith/Higgins/Waddle to Brown/Chase/Hill (in terms of role/impact, not style of play of course). T-Mac is going to be the top ranked WR on every team's board in the end.  He is going to be a true outside #1 WR who is viewed as a consensus Top 5 WR in the game by his second contract in the same way guys like Jefferson and Chase have done.  His height combined with his speed, athleticism, and hands are near impossible to find all in one player, there is a reason his generally used comp is Mike Evans (although as he's not as thick, I personally see him more as an AJ Green). Yes, as an Arizona alum I've admitted to having bias towards the player to begin with.  But he's also someone very widely being put into the Top 5 in mock drafts lately and most of them have him as the first non QB offensive player being taken, so it's not really THAT much of a homer pick on my part anyways. If a QB or DE truly separate themselves as being a can't miss prospect come draft day, I'm open to that discussion, but until then, or if it doesn't happen, T-Mac is my pick 100 times out of 100.
