A New Era For The Bobcats? Can It Happen Tonight?

Oh good, I was actually hoping someone would answer that in this exact way. Thanks for playing ball.

Nobody outside of NC cares about college basketball. I understand some of you are so bound in your ignorance that you cannot comprehend it, so I'll break it down further.

College basketball is a sport that is only cared about until fans of the region find something to replace it. Only in NC, which has never had any notable success in any other sport, do they still car about college basketball so much.

College basketball anywhere else is just another thing colleges do as an extracurricular hobby for their students like Lacrosse or golf or knitting.

Its why no one will care about the Bobcats even if they get this Davis guy. To even think he will boost attention to Charlotte in the same way Cam has is delusional. The Bobcats will actually have to play good to draw attention to themselves, something that probably won't be happening any time soon.

You really don't get out much do you?

When you're flying into cities by private jet and being hosted by franchises, you're testing free agency. He did not sign until after he visited with the Bulls and Magic. Had he signed before that you'd have a point.

And he didn't try elsewhere until he told the Spurs that the arena was the linchpin and they didn't approve it right away. The fact was that money wasn't the issue which is the case with most free agent negotiations but rather the working conditions like the arena. He went there to let them know he was serious. Why would he sign first and then go to other towns to explore free agency???

NC is no doubt a college basketball state and NCAA hoops are second to college FB nationally, but to make such a generalized statement like that it completely inaccurate and extremely ignorant.

March Madness is probably the best sporting event in the United States and most of the nation would agree with the amount of money wagered and the incredible TV ratings.

The excitement for the Hive didnt last, which is why I dont consider this a REAL NBA city. This is a second hand college bbball/NASCAR town. And people's loyalty reflects that. There was never a period in Charlotte where people stopped caring about UNC-Duke or Nascar. Hornets cant say the same.

Davis is viewed as a franchise guy, he could generate intersest much like Gerald Wallace did here. Charlotte is not LA so I dont know why you're coming with this "fans only care about banners" mess. Is that why you blow the Panthers? Cuz of all their wins and banners?

People were excited about the Hornets but how excited were we gone to stay when they left us for New Orleans and we get a franchise and have to go through the whole rebuilding process all over again. Then they struggle and the minute that the team does well like in 2010, the new owner blows it up and they are god awful in 2011 and starting all over again. Why?? Money just like I have said all along,.

Shinn screwed his relationship with Charlotte with the sex crap, not keeping Alonzo to show we were serious about building a contender, screwing the deal with Kobe getting Divac and little else, screwing up giving tons of money for Larry Johnson and his back injuries, not spending in free agency, etc. Even then a new owner could have fixed the relationship because it wasn't the hornets but Shinn that was the issue. But instead of selling he moved the team. It wasn't Charlotte abandoning the Hornets but the other way around, Shinn screwing Charlotte and everything that wore a skirt.

You think Lebron left Cleveland because of its lack of a market lol?

He left because they didn't build a team around him that could win a championship. But the allure of playing in a big market with lots of entertainment, things to do, southern great weather city with beaches etc, all play a part. If all things are equal where you play is a big part of it. But it wasn't as big as winning a championship which I have already said if you were following the thread..

I hope so. I believe he's the only guy in the draft who can help change and turn this franchise and it's culture around. Why? Because the new coach and staffs will have to build this team around him. If we don't get that no.1 pick, we won't get Davis and we will suffer again for many years to come. There are other intriguing prospects but they won't force this franchise to build a team around them like an Anthony Davis will.

I love the Bobcats. They're my favorite team before any other NBA teams, but it's hard to watch them and keep track with them, knowing they suck year in and year out.

Davis pair with Biyombo and Kemba is a nice start for the future.

Hope we win it tonight.

lol the worst team in NBA history and they gotta draw to see who gets first pick, don't make sense to me. The NBA makes no sense

in their draft B Cats had worse team they should draft 1st and until that is fixed no NBA for me

It is a harsh reality when you are in the position of the Bobcats. They clearly finished last this year, because they flat out sucked.

I am sure many teams in the past, knowing they have no shot at the playoffs, tanked for a certain player - hence the top 3 lottery system. Bobcats are guaranteed a top 4 pick. Which means probably Davis, MKG, Robinson or Drummond.

The lottery calls out the draft order from 14 to 1. Here is how it should pan out. If you hear a team picking a spot below where they should be, it means a 4 through 14 team hit the top 3.

14. Houston

13. Phoenix

12. Milwaukee

11. Portland.

10. New Orleans

9. Detroit

8. Toronto

7. Golden State

6. Portland

5. Sacramento

4. New Orleans

3. Cleveland

2. Washington

1. Charlotte

Correct me if I am wrong on that order btw.

As a bobcats season ticket holder....I must say I think it's Davis or bust. Getting Davis not only improves the team on the court but it also makes us more enticing for a good head coach.

I hate to be so dramatic but this seriously going to decide this franchises future.
