A New Era For The Bobcats? Can It Happen Tonight?

Even if I had the chance to draft Anthony Davis, I wouldn't until he agreed to shave that fuging uni-brow.

He is the exception to the rule. If you remember he stayed in school for all 4 years even when he would have gone number 1 after his junior year. I heard on Monday that he wasn't going to seek free agency and wanted to retire a Spur. How many guys aspire to play for 1 franchise their whole career and retire for them even if they could make more money elsewhere??

He was also drafted to a team that was already being manned by a HOF center and was a playoff team. If the Clippers had drafted him, he wouldve gone to another team. Its less about a players personality and more about how good is the organization they work for. Kobe is an asshole, but he's stayed with one franchise his whole career because they surround him with talent and they have a great front office.

Sure he can. If he left for New York years ago, he would be making millions more. Maybe not in his NBA contract but in endorsements alone. But he's satisfied where he is and in the organization, he doesn't need all of that.

The point was that he won't test free agency now, not in the past.

I'll definitely be tuning in and hoping the B'cats get the #1 pick. The NBA is retarded for having a draft lottery. It serves no purpose except to keep the worst teams on the bottom.

I couldn't agree with you more on this. It should be like the NFL and the worst team gets the first pick. The lottery is just stupid. I for one will be devastated if the Bobcats can't get the #1 pick tonight. Some people think the Cavs will get the pick just because they are still suffering from Lebron James leaving. It's not like they don't have a star in Kyrie Irving if he only stays healthy.

Because the NBA is set up so that the player's current team can make him the best offer. Seriously try to make just one valid comment. You look silly.

Exactly. Just like LeBron took less money to leave Cleveland. But he's still portrayed as selfish and money hungry. He left $30 mill on the table in Cleveland to come to Miami. Bosh makes more. The guy has tons of money, he wants a championship.

That is what a team can do but it doesn't mean they will do it. You make one valid point in a number of posts and you think that somehow makes you look smart and me silly. Try again.....

You making a bunch of unsubstantiated comments throughout the thread, and me correcting them is what made me look smart, and you look silly.

No one said he left for the money he left because he wanted to play for a championship and play in a bigger market which is what most players want to do. That is why small markets can't compete. It isn't about paying 1 guy huge bucks it is about paying 5 or 6 guys big bucks to build a team around that one great player.

I pray the Bobcats do land the #1 pick, as Davis is no Kwame Brown. He's not going to be a Dwight Howard type #1 pick, but definitly a force in the league IMO.

Agreed with the guy earlier who said he thinks the Hornets land the pick though. Wouldn't doubt Stern to give the Hornets the pick to make them sexier to a buyer/be part of the CP3 crap that went down.

Last thought, the lottery is exciting but horsepoo. The Bobcats have a better chance at landing the #4 pick than the #1 pick which is just stupid. To explain before silly people ask, #1 pick- 25% chance, #2 pick - 22% chance or so, #3 pick - 18% or so (too lazy to look up exact %'s). The lowest they can drop is 4...so all other percentages get lumped in there to give them the greater chance at the 4th pick. Which I would kind of giggle at if MJ took Barnes with that.

The Bobcats are just a couple of lottery picks away from becoming a good team. Jordan just has to draft well like young teams like OKC and others did. I heard from a lot of people that they feel Brady Beal SG from Flordia will become the best player in this draft.

I like Beal a lot. If we don't get Davis, I sure hope were able to get Beal

you made one point about James which impacted one part of one post I made and you think you are Einstein. I don't get into personal attacks so I won't comment about being smart or stupid but don't start patting yourself on the back too hard, you might hurt something.

Your point about Duncan was irrelevant because while a home team can win a bidding war if they choose, that doesn't mean that they will still retain the player, choose to actually spend the money, or want them worse than someone else. Since Duncan has not tried free agency and says he has no interest now, as I said, no one knows what would happen if he tried.

Duncan tested free agency in the early 2000's. He nearly went to the Magic along with Grant Hill and Tracy McGrady (would've been the first Big 3). Duncan said his decision hinged on whether the city approved the construction of a new arena for the Spurs as the Alamodome had become outdated. They did, and the Spurs now play in the newer AT&T Center, but even after winning a title Duncan contemplated leaving.
