Doc Watson Has Died

I first heard him in 1980 or 81 in Athens, Ga. I think it was in the Frog Pond Lounge. Not sure why we went there...but Doc and Merle were playing. I was in Athens about 2 years. Can't tell you about any other group there I heard (except REM...and I have a story about firing one of the original members).

I was a rock and jazz person. Doc, his son Merle, & co made an impression on me that I have not forgotten. Can't imagine Doc's sadness after Merle died.

Doc was a humble American music genius. So sad to hear he is gone.
